Ugh Gary...I don't think it matters where Frank Bush is calling plays from. He sucks calling plays from the booth and on the field.

Considering how bad things have been are you worried about your job?

Kubes: I don't worry about such things.

    LOL

The thing is I think he is being serious. I really feel like he thinks he has a lot of job security.

Yeah, but now he's hearing it DIRECTLY from the crowd after he sucks at calling plays. He is within SPITTIN' distance from us.

Someone oughta be drunk by now. :p

    Gary Kubiak:

On the 42 yard play to Edwards, Harrison and DUngy talking about it, how you were playing on the wrong side. Blamed it on the coaches. How do you respond?

DOnt know anything that happens on these shows. Playing 2 man. Not suppose to be on outside. Working on his hip. We can play coverage better but dont know what theyre talking about.

On 4 yard line, McCain 2 yards off. Easy slant TD. Same to Holmes. Easy slant. Is that how Brice is taught?

We're in 0 coverage. Take away the inside. Shouldnt be beat on slant. Thats our fault as coaches.

    Same thing on Holmes happened.

That was man coverage. Brice suppose to play leverage. Need to play it tighter.

Anything with Frank Bush. How can you justify keeping him?

I believe in him. We played better yesterday. A lot of good things went on. I believe in him

Got best pass rush you've had all year. Any DB playing well?

Yesterday the best we rushed the passer. Gotta be in better body position. Were active up front. On back end, I thought Kareem played better. A lot of good things went on back there. A couple plays late negates everything positive. 2-3 negatives outwiegh good.

On last drive, you kick the FG. Trying to get him use to TO?

We wanted to score a TD. Ran 3 best 4 minute plays. Tried to stay in bounds, make them use their TOs. We wanna score but we did everything we wanted to do besides score the TD. We should win the game.

How does vet like Wilson get faked out by Sanchez?

Talking about last play? Yeah, we need to keep width better. We need to play it better from Corner and safety spot. Give them credit, made a great throw.

What did he say to you?

Not much. We need to get wider and blow it up.

When you take a look, you got a pass rush yesterday, first time Mario came to play since Washington game. What is it about him he doesnt do it every Sunday for 4 quarters?

I disagree. He does it. He is consistent. He gets doubled and tripled team. He is consistent. Showed up more yesterday because of sacks but he is consistent.

Giving up 100 yards more passing this year than last. Why is that?

I can give you many reasons but no excuses. Struggling back there. People will attack your weaknesses.

Another bad start on O. Thought about going uptempo whole game?

See the start yesterday, poor field position. Got the ball outta the hole. Did flip the field a couple times. We did a couple things that flipped the way we wanted. Took the lead 7-3. Could make a huge play but Walter didnt make that catch. Gotta find a way to win the game. Moved the ball well. We should win.

On the 2 min offense, why no TO?

I should have. I wanted to spike the ball. I wasnt gonna try a FG from there. Would have loved 11 secs and TO but didnt get that done.

In general, 0-14 in 2 minute offenses this year/

I'll have to go back and look.

Matt Schaub looked good mobility wise. Setbacks on knee?

No. We protected him well. He did a good job.

    How is OD?

We'll see when we take the field Wednesday. Hope we can get him back.

Both corners covering Andre. Was he getting open and not finding him or not getting open?

They did a good job. They made it difficult. Gotta find a way so he can touch the ball. They're a good group. Our recievers were challenged but our TEs stepped up.

For the fans, what do you tell them?

We sure as hell arent giving up. A lot of football left. We'll go get ready to play Tennessee this week. We need to hang onto the good from yesterday. Effort is good. We need a w.

In general, how did Allen do?

Played 40 something plays. Big challenges for our coaches to get him ready in 8 days. We'll talk about the end of the game and staying with his man. He helped us and should help us.

What are you telling Frank to encourage him?

Came down and handled the group well. We regrouped better yesterday. AFter they went down and score, we got beat in 0 coverage. Frank calmed them down. We made big plays on D to get us back in the game. He had it under control very well. A lot of good things on. 49 seconds not good enough though. Frank works hard.

Your decision to bring him down?

Just needed to do something different. We need to continue to do things different though I dont know what yet. I gotta improve this team in tough situational football. Start by looking at myself.

    Will Wilson continue to start?

Yeah. Troy played as well. Eugene will stay back there. He did a lot of good things. Everyone is playing.

Your 3 LBs werent on the field. Seemed they played well.

Best they played. Cushing back at his spot. Bentley gets better every week. Sharpton got an opportunity and took advantage of it. He deserves to play more.

Do you look at your players - relationship still good?

Our job is to win. Difficult right now on everyone. All you do is work hard, keep pushing, keep battling. Our players are great. Work hard here and on the field. They'll continue to do that.

    Worried about your job?

    Never worry about myself.

    Worried about your coaches?

Again, Yes. Worried about others, not myself.

Chris Johnson coming in. Rookie QB in. Have you looked at them?

No, dont know much about their situation. I dont know. Just getting started.

I actually came away feeling sorry for him. He is an offensive coordinator and probably a very good one. Problem is, as was stated by another poster in another thread, he is in way over his head... don't worry Gary it'll all be over soon.

I didn't see the graphic but only thing I can assume is it refers to drives started within the 2 minute warning. I believe in the Washington and KC games, their drives started outside of 2 minutes.

Man...i wish the Houston media had the stones to rip into a guy more. I mean...not to sound insensitive but waiting to the last minute to ask a job security question is a joke.

The entire press conference should have been...."ok, gary...u say its 'on you' EVERY DARN WEEK...so if you were Bob McNair, would you fire you? How about Frank Bush? Would you fire him? You really think your secondary did some good things other than the last drive? Gary - fans are screaming about how the whole staff and secondary needs to be fired/waived/cut/shot whatever....i know u say you cant worry about yourself, so what do u think of what the fans are saying?"

We got the ball with 3:16 left and the drive lasted 1:13. Washington got the ball with 2:03 left. They punted and when we got the ball back we couldn't do anything with it. So no we didn't score in the last 2 minutes vs the Redskins.

We got the ball with 2:22 and scored a TD. KC got the ball back with :28 left. Maybe the statistic only applies if the possession begins within the last 2 minutes.

I'm intrigued by this statistic so I'll do some research myself.

Drives that started within the last 2 minutes of the half.
IND: 1st half - got it with 15 seconds left, took a knee. 2nd half - got it with 1:15 left and we took 2 knees

@WAS: 1st half - got it with 1:20 left, ran 6 plays, time ran out. 2nd Half: :49 left but we couldn't do anything.

DAL: 1st half - didn't get the ball. 2nd Half - 1:15 left, threw an INT

@OAK: 1st half - got it at 1:37, 3 and out, punted. Got it again wiht :32 left and managed to run 6 plays but couldn't score. 2nd half - 1:40, ran out the clock

NYG: 1st half, 2 seconds left, knee. 2nd half - didn't get ball.

KC: 1st half, 13 seconds left, knee. 2nd half, scored TD with :28 left but drive started at 2:22.

    @IND: 1st half - got ball with :53, 3 and out, punted. 2nd half - didn't get ball.

SD: 1st half - FG with :22 left but drive started at 6:38. 2nd half, didn't get ball.

    @JAX: 1st half - :38 left, ran 2 play, time ran out. 2nd half - 1:34, fumbled.

@NYJ: 1st half - :58 left, ran 6 plays, time ran out. 2nd half - got ball at 1:52, Field Goal.

So by my count, before yesterday, we had 8 drives that started within the last 2 minutes where we actually tried to do something and another 5 times when we just ran out the clock. I must've missed one unless they showed that graphic after halftime of the NYJ game.

Of those 8 drives, we had one INT, one Fumble, 2 punts, and the other 4 just couldn't do anything.
