Part of me is scared that there are five games left. Five more games for Gary to win one and all of a sudden inspire confidence in McNair once again. Pull the trigger already!
I cannot see McNair firing Kubiak prior to the completion of the season. McNair personally likes Kubiak and has had a great deal of confidence in him in the pass. Further, it isn't McNair's style. I suspect that during the off season McNair will hire an outside consultant with a track record of success (Shottenheimer or some other old timer) that will suggest that Kubiak be replaced, and we will see a change at that time.
Yeah, no point in firing him mid season.. Hang on to him untill the end of the season then give him the ax.
Kubiak to step down as head coach to take over as GM. Kubiak hires Wade Phillips as HC and Matt Schaub as OC, brings back Frank Bush as DC.
He has said on numerous occasions that he doesn't worry about his job he only worries about his assistants. That said, would it be better for his assistants if he stayed on OR if he resigned b4 end of the season? If it's not his decision, then I think he stays the year. McNair and the Texans don't operate mid season, really nobody in the NFL does. The Rooney Rule and lack of available candidates since the season is ongoing means no hiring any time soon so why even bother with the firing now.
yes this has been circulation today.. It might be true that he is stepping down, maybe the reason the players media session got cancelled
Normal Monday presser is at 3:30. I guess we'll know something by then if anything is going down. Only reason I could see that it wouldn't have been announced by now is that they wanted to address all of the team first.
Not sure. The text I got said "Kubes stepping down". I assumed it would be today, but don't know for sure.
isnt it rare that the Players session was cancelled? Not sure if this happens alot? unless some big news is coming
