Want a burger? Go to Lankford Grocery or Christian's Tailgate.

Have you been to Sam's Deli Diner between Kirkwood and Wilcrest, north of I-10. RM95 and I went there a few weeks back for lunch...he'd been telling me about it forever. That's a pretty damn good burger.

    where is lankford? christians?

    Lankford Grocery

    Christian's Tailgate

If you can wait a month, the Dukes of Houston will be playing Christian's Tailgate on Friday November 5th.

Both places make awesome old-timey hamburgers.

Taco Cabana is like the Hill Country Fair of mexican food. Really, is that what they call a quesadilla? downright nasty.

I thought that was Taco Bell.

Of course, TC pales in comparison to "real" sit-down Mexican places - or even Taco Palenque for that matter (anyone know what those are by any chance?) - but, for fast food, it's some good stuff. You can't argue with the fajita tacos - or that you can get two of these (with really good meat), chips and queso, and a drink for the same price of anyone else's fast food combo.

Ahh, the beef fajita taco combo. Certainly the food of choice when you leave the bar at 2am.

No. The quintessential drunk food at Taco Cabana is the fajita and eggs platter.

I substitute fried potatoes for beans and order two extra tortillas.

Try it, and then tell me which is better.:p

OK. Luckily for me there is a Taco Cabana a half mile from my house just at the exit where I get off the freeway. It is always packed at 2:30-3:00 AM. I will have to check it out. Thanks!

double meat, triple cheese, jalapeno and bacon whataburger -nothing better, imo

although albuquerque has a knock off called lotaburger that is almost as good as whataburger

oh, and two pesos was millions times better than taco cabana - i really miss that place

first of all Lotaburger is not a knockoff!!

Lotaburger is da bomb, I remember there were two where I was born in Bartlesville Oklahoma,

but if you are in bartlesville you have to go to Murphy's

the make a hot hamburger that will knock your socks off

nothing is as good as toast, with a large meat hamburger thats been cooked in gravy, covered in frenchfries and then all of it covered in gravy

hot hamburgers rule! I make a mean one myself, even transported some of the original gravy from murphys one time had in the freezer for awhile and brought back all the tasty goodness 6 months later :)

Blake's Lotaburger is not a knockoff of Whataburger.

I'd give anything to have green chile cheeseburgers here in Houston. :(
