The intent for this stimulus was never to take us out of recession, but rather to mitigate the damage of 3 million losses and growing. Plus the stimulus is spread out over several years, and in that context 800 billion from the government is not enough. There's many arguments against the stimulus as it is, but both sides, at least when they're informed, never considered it as the magical answer to our current problems.
Yes, when I buy my rims they will allow the rim manufacturers to employ more people and help unemployment. Plus people will so inspired by chrome spinners that they will all go to work and help the economy. Not to mention I've got to buy products to keep rims their reflective best. My 2003 Hyundai Elantra that I paid half down on, and paid the rest off in two years will look soooo awesome. Especially when I'm driving around the condo, that my wife and I worked for, saved for, and bought. Of course all the other school teachers that I work with as much as 60 hours a week, while also picking up extra work when I can and when it's available, because I'd like to upgrade my home. But yes you're right... all I care about is my own $800 and some rims.
just saw on gallup that Obama's job support is now at the lowest point of his brief presidency. Now only 62% approve of the job he's doing....down from above 70%
