I'm aware that this was a corporate issue. I'm also aware that KK's traffic at their actual stores has been dwindling quite dramatically recently (I called and asked them about that.) I was just giving my personal view on the issue of KK leaving...not trying to make it seem like my personal view was the exact reason for the departure.
Ummmmmm...you do realise that getting a doughnut wasn't the sole purpose of the trip, right? Right? I had some clothing & grocery shopping to do....
Geez, the way some of you are going on and on about this Shipley's place makes me tempted to get on a plane to come to Houston just to go to a Shipley's!
they have Shipley's here where I go to school in Central Arkansas and I don't get the big deal. They pretty much seem like any generic donut I've ever had. What's so great about them?
it might be ****ty over there but man when you go straight in the morning and get the fresh batch...DAMN!
Don't believe the hype. I was raised less than a mile away from a Shipley's and think they're nothing special. As adeel said, KK is just on a whole other level.
not even almost.. and the microwave doesn't heat them up evenly.. most often than ont 15seconds is enough to melt away some of the glaze or frosting... no fresh crispiness on the outside
my guess is your problem is that you're in central arkansas. whatever you eat in central arkansas, unfortunately you find yourself eating it in central arkansas.
ya, the overratedness is making me not like shipleys anymore. I just had a shipleys glazed donut, and honestly, it tastes like a donut from wallmart. Now the filled ones are pretty good but Krispey Kreme fresh hot glazed donuts are the best. and they kick shipleys ass when doing fundraisers.
Perfectly said. They are both good donuts, but Krispy Kreme uses more sugary glaze to cover up the fact their dough isn't quite as good. If you're a sugar fiend, KK is the donut for you. If you're a foodie, Shipley's will be your guilty pleasure.
