How do the cops not ask the kid if it's just a pellet gun?

Yeah you are correct, he might have just turned 15......or he might be close to 16....one would be 2 years, the other only 1.

This is a sad one indeed.

But the officers had to do their duty. I hope the police exercised maximum tolerance on the kid. If lives are in jeopardy then the kid needed to go.

Could they not have shot him with a taser? Or have thrown tear gas or a non-lethal explosive in the room? Such a senseless waste of life; I'm not blaming the cops, they did what they thought was right...

You're absolutely correct. Right after they ask how much the kid weighs.

Yeah, but if it was a real gun and the kid squeezed off a few and killed someone then people would have doubted the cops another way. After Columbine they're not taking chances. They gave the kid plenty of opportunity to respond.

You realize tasers do not work on everyone right? Tear gas and a non-lethal explosives will not prevent him from firing shots off. Also it was in the hallway and students were in classrooms near him. Bottom line the kid refused to lower his weapon, do you wait until he shoots?

So shooting the leg would stop the kid from shooting a gun??? Also cops are trained to shoot center mass.

You watch too many movies. Why not just expect them to shoot the gun out of the kid's hand?
