So, stepping back stats-wise due to incorporating other stud prospects?

KPJ should never be the best player or highest scorer on a team trying to be successful. I'm happy with him getting 15 a game and 6-8 assists as long as the hustle is there, turnovers are down and his attitude in check.

I wouldn't mind Green hitting 22-25 next year and Jabari as a rook 13 pts/8 boards

Oh, that's some quantum tech stuff, huh? Getting stats for the 23 season in 22, impressive!

To some extent, the effect of having good new prospects working their way in (in terms of how stats might get spread around) is offset by the subtraction of CW. Not sure how that shakes out in terms of KPJ numbers, but it might tend to inflate them, at least earlier on (?)

I'd prefer 16/4/3 as the 25+ mpg 6th man... but I'd take the 28 as the starter ..

I'm old school in that players tend to take 3 to 4 years to develop.

Kevin has for the most part, been better each season:
    Year.................pts....Ast..Rebs...stl...blk...USG%...Ast%...PER...
    19/20 (Cavs) : ...10.0....2.2....3.2.....0.9...0.3....20.5.....13.9.....10.8...
    20/21 (Rockets):16.6....6.3....3.8....0.7....0.3....25.4.....31.3....12.5...
    21/22 (Rockets):15.6.....6.2...4.4.....1.1...0.4....24.1.....30.7....13.5...
    22/23 (now) :.....20.3....8.1...5.4....1.4...0.5...23.2....36.5....18.3...(my guesstimate)

I give Porter a pass last season as Tate, Sengun, Theis, and Green did
not provide much spacing most of the season resulting in defenders
    packing the paint.

    By position each year:
    Year.......PG.......SG.....SF.......PF...... Center
    19/20:................24%....76%............................
    20/21......30%....59%....12%............................
    21/22......94%.....6%........................................
    [ stats provided by basketball-reference.com ]
    https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/porteke02.html

So Porter basically has been in training to be PG briefly....only playing 26
games for the Rockets in 20/21. With Eric Gordon and Wood sitting, it
feels like Porter started to get it at the end of the year (final 21 games)
    of 21/22.

I project better numbers accordingly.....better spacing and better shooters
surrounding him. Tate/Kenyon improve going into 3rd years while Sengun,
Thrilla, JC, improve from freshman season to sophomore. Garuba will still
be rookie level.....until he is not.

The Ast% is as good as some of the best point guards in the league.
Better shooters surrounding him could bring it up to that 39% area.

It's about maturation and the general learning curve projection.
Helps that the player personnel is improving around him.

I think his assists go WAY up this year, passing to much better shooters.....

I hear Tate the short, is even hitting 3s.

Precisely… Green, Smith, JC, Sengun, all taking steps forward stats wise.

I really think he will average 20 points a game with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. In his last 10 games last year, he average around 23 points and 7.5 rebounds i believe he has experience to get to that next level. If he regress this season, our rebuilding is in trouble. The rockets are depending on him to develop into a STAR player, they have invested a lot of times with him.

I just hope he keeps his head on straight and does NOT try to go for big numbers. He needs to understand that he is not going to be the no. 1 featured guy on this team. If he prioritizes his own numbers over team success or shows a bad attitude again, we shouldn't keep him.

He is not as important to the Rockets' future as Green, Jabari and Sengun.

Run the offense more through Sengun and see if KPJ can continue to be great as a catch-and-shoot and slash threat.

I like the over a LOT more now that paolo won't be here soaking up usage.

Another thing that made me have jabari #1 the whole time was his ability to score in high volume but low usage. jalen, KPJ, and alpy can all cook, and jabari will still get his points without needing the ball in his hands the whole shot clock.

KPJ can get his 19-5-6 on average efficiency. jalen can get his 22-4-3 on high efficiency, alpy can even get his 17-8-4 on average efficiency. paolo would've eaten into all of those guys usage, except maybe jalen, reducing their roles and effectiveness. jabari will let them get theirs and then add another 17-6-2 on high efficiency (rookie projections only). he'll create spacing for them to score more efficiently, he's an elite outlet for when they draw help giving them added assists.

in short, not only will KPJ reach his over, but so will jalen and alpy now too.

It’s all on Silas to come up with a defensive scheme that doesn’t depend on mental processing. Emotions from bad defense and having to overcome big deficits are draining.
