I see him as a pseudo PG version of Jaylen Brown but worse.

Not seeing what you just said.

With him around and in the starting lineup, Green is not going to get the room to grow IMO.

I am okay with keeping him in the end if he turns out to be better than Jalen Green but it would not be pretty to demote your Second round pick.

    Nope, I cannot agree.

It is a very bold and wide line.

KPJ just has to be consistent to keep all the CF woves at bay.

Love that he's become a more efficient 2 way player.

Defense and turnovers have improved drastically.

Along the way, and especially after the incident, he cut himself off social media, escaping the “negative” comments that he said helped him focus.

“I tend to take breaks from social,” Porter said. “Nowadays, social is used more as negative than positive. It was created more for positivity, but 2022, you know how that goes. I advise people to take a break. There’s a lot of fake stuff out there that you see. Just a little break. I do it all the time.”

“I only pay attention to the people that want what’s best for me and people I care about most,” Porter said. “Like going back to the media thing, there’s a lot of people that wish bad upon me and I know.

“Knowing the people and being aware of the people that are there for you, that are real, and through adversity, through thick and thin, they’re always going to be by you on your right hand, me getting away from social media makes it clearer who they are. Having that confidence boost is why I’ve been playing so good.”

PorterJr is infuriating one day & exciting the next.

But Gordon has been our most important player. Esp his ability to space the floor. Garry Bird's ability to shoot as well has helped.

At least kpj has you in his corner, at least 80% of CF are done with him.

5 straight games for the 21-year-old. You gotta start somewhere and that is not a bad start.

The next time he has a bad game, will he bounce back? That's the key.

Ad populum arguments don't really move the needle, not only because I don't really believe that 80% of CF is "done with" the best young player on the team, but even if it was true......you could make it 99% of CF thinking one way and it still wouldn't be evidence of that thing being true.

Those who are most outspoken against KPJ are just worried that if he does well it'll take some of the shine away from their hero Jalen Green.

I'd be surprised if most actual Rockets fans were against KPJ.

Also, many in the CF silo are actually oblivious to what is considered consensus among the wider NBA commentariat...

social boards are no different than sportpubs. there is a reason why pro sports are for grow men. nothing bad with KPJ/Green etc reactions they are just kids having to put up with the pressure while they should be probably after at least 2 more years of school and maturing before even entering the league

Its been a fun ride watching Scooter evolve. Once he can keep things upstairs in order 24/7 he will take off. He's on the cusp and he's going to figure it out. Patience is the art of hoping!

    Huh?
Sooo, You throw things at GMs, been kicked off 2 teams (1 college, 1 pro), throw tantrums at 60 year old assistant coaches and leave arenas at halftime because "a lot of people that wish bad upon me"? So it's the wishing power of social media that makes you act an ass? Got it.

If Stone pays this kid he's nuts. This is how GMs get fired.

He's the most talented young player in the roster, if he keeps playing well, he'll get paid and he should.

You have reading comprehension problems. That's literally not what he said.

He said he cut him off from social media because he has a lot of people wishing bad upon him and he needed to focus. Where does it say that social media makes him act the way he does. He probably gets a lot of hate messages from randoms, so I'm not surprised he had to shut it off for a while after the whole tantrum thing.

So playing in the NBA , a once in lifetime opportunity, isn't enough to help you handle your business like a professional but getting off social media is? Umkay. There are so many red flags with this kid. Some of these guys will never take responsibility for anything, and if Stones pays this guy it's not going to get better.

So how much are you going to pay this head case? Would you max him out?

We got a year to figure it out and you structure the contract accordingly, and ignore social media, as none of us have an actual clue about the situation.

I hear ya but it seems like Koby Altman has been working the Rockets for the last year or so. Stealing Jarrett Allen, pawning off KPJ on us, and nabbing Mobley in the draft. I'd say he's come out on top for now.
