    Not you too Nook.

I just don't understand how KPJ makes people get in their feelings.

    I just don't understand it.

Do they have US American appreciation night there when 2 US players play against each other?

But you did create a post linking several instances of him playing bad defense.

What kind of Dork actually goes to the trouble of doing that and the commenting on them?

Because somebody said that I didn't watch the game and he was an elite defender.

I watched, and he wasn't. But - it doesn't matter.

The Rockets didn't win last night with defense. That's totally fine at this stage.

    100% spot on.

And, he's cleaning up his game on the other side of the ball now, too.

    Scary combination.

I just wonder if they are not being held accountable, I know that Wood CAN play defense when he wants too but withtout someone rim protecting the entire team is a turnstyle.....with the possible exception of Tate......even Capt Charge Mathews gets beat on most angles.....only Tate is able to consistently stay in front of his man.

We are just really really poor on D, and that is straight up lack of accountability for it by the coaches....

Maybe they are just trying to focus on offense - which is LOL funny .....because sometimes that is pretty poor too.

Conclusion: We are a pretty poor team, atm.

I'm not taking either side here. I personally believe KPJ has made great strides as a defender, but I also don't think he's elite, either. Regardless, no player could stand up to this kind of scrutiny.

If it does not matter, why did you do all that work on that post?

    Actions speaks louder than words.

    Just saying.

Just wait till he gets to the playoffs one day, explodes on the team and starts going through another mental breakdown when we need him. I hope he’s getting the help he needs because he’s super talented.

RN, team is young and this ish is ok. When we become a playoff team one day, we gotta pray he doesn’t go backwards.

I don't have anything against Porter personally.

I just don't think that he is the long term solution for the Rockets.

I think Ivey has the chance to be a genuine Dwayne Wade type player and is an excellent compliment for Green because of his 7'0" wingspan, shooting, and improved passing.

Because somebody - not me - tried to claim that he was an elite defender, and that I didn't see the actual game and was just looking at those stats. Refutation was granted.

I saw the actual game, he was not elite, but IMO, as previously stated that's immaterial, nobody was elite.

I was the guy Samfisher was responding to and I respect the effort to back up his argument. I don’t have the time or skill set to go cut out all the instances of excellent defense he exhibited last night. I didn’t say he was elite, but I said he was on his way and is the best defensive player on this team other than Tate and maybe Nwaba. I welcome debate and at times will admit defeat. Hollins has been glowing and has pointed out his defensive improvements and effort pretty much every game. I hope I’m right and he becomes an elite defensive player and a good pg, but I won’t denegrate those that disagreed with me if it happens.

I like Ivey a lot but how is he a compliment to Green when neither is a PG? Seems to be a replacement for Green.

Porter is my favorite player on the team, and probably to actively watch in the nba, but the idea of Ivey at point, Porter at point forward, Sengun at point center would make us one of the most versatile teams in the nba in a few years

If KPJ can play like his play in the kings game, I would be ok with 15 and 8 and 50% from the field.

I think Ivey is going to be a combo guard like Dwayne Wade, James Harden.... he has good court vision and is an improving passer. Right now he is being largely held back by horrendous spacing on the Purdue team.

Ivey is a compliment to Green because he is very long and a good defender so he can guard either backcourt spot easily. He also has the ability to create and pass of the bounce.

If Porter becomes more efficient and plays well, he would be nasty in a three guard/SF set with Ivey and Green... it would be a very athletic group as well.

If anyone wants to get the real "beef" on the story DD mentioned, here you go. Trust me, it's well worth a few minutes. Oh, and I have to mention this. Hakeem never apologized for the alleged "fake injury," real or not (and certainly suspicious looking, I'll admit that). Anyway, again, here you go:
