Have to argue your position on Theis.

They got him to play defense, so Wood didn't have to play traditional bigs in the paint .... that didn't work out.

But that's not the end of the discussion .... Just the beginning.

Having Theis gives you the option of trading Wood and not needing to get a playable big man in return - This is really a big deal ...

Theis makes the right basketball play .... sets a strong pick and rolls or pops according to the defender.

Theis is Green's go to guy both on and off the court. This cannot be stressed enough ...

Theis should thank you, those are kind words for someone who is considered a below average signing for multiple years.

Could have easily gone for a good G-League guy or someone overseas.

Team is rebuilding, might as well trade Wood for picks alongside Theis, get younger bigs.

Well written though, on your behalf, still want Theis gone.

I said it at the time and got blasted but I think the game winner was one of the worst things that could have happened to him. KPJ needs to have good games before he can be a great prospect/player. I mean it was a great moment, and I jumped off the couch, but while being invested in seeing him grow I cringed about 30 seconds after remembering he was complete garbage the rest of the game, and knowing that the next stretch of games KPJ would be playing as though he's something that he's not.

its time to trade him to lebron. package him with EG or Tate in a trade. I think he's gone by the trade deadline. Christopher needs to be handed the keys for the rest of the year. Unless porter is willing to sign and 3 year, 10 million dollar contract i say trade him. I'm willing to pay him 3.3 million a year similar to beverleys first contract, as a project 7th man. He's not even a sixth man project at this point.

I don't even want him free.
He's just delaying Green and Christopher's development.

You'll get no argument from me that the money could have been better spent, it was a questionable signing at the time but we're beyond that now.

Fact is, He's Green's go to both on and off the court. Their chemistry on court is really good because Theis makes the right reads based upon what the defender does, just too bad he isn't a better shooter - able to take advantage of all those wide open looks he gets in the pick and pop with Green. Still, it's important that Green has a security blanket out there ....

(Really too bad Twiggy won't make those same plays - a Green / Twiggy pick and roll/pop would be difficult to defend. As it stands all you are getting out of Twiggy is a pick and slip leaving the ball handler double teamed the vast majority of the time, but he gets his)

Fact is, Twiggy's ass needs to get gone and having Theis here makes that easier to do. You aren't forced to get a playable big man in return. Your options are not limited by need and you could even use that deal to clear a roster spot to facilitate moving EG - once you clear a couple roster spots to expand the trade beyond 1:1 and that may open the door to finally moving on from Wall.

lol. you're probably right. definately right about delaying green and christopher's development. Sorry kid, this is the NBA, you got beat out. I still think he's worth that much to be used as a trade piece in the future. But i wouldn't care if he's simply traded either, that's the first option. i actually think nix will be better and even queen.

I think people underestimate how much Wood slipping the "pick" literally 100% of the time and before the defender even touches him, kills the offense. It absolutely tanks our offense. The inability to even run pick and roll because of him is killer

He has moves he just dont know what wins games. We have no vets to teach him either. No coaches to teach him too

I would much rather see Christopher getting those minutes. I’m not sure why he’s not after what Porter Jr. pulled last week. The organization seems committed to him for whatever reason.

who has been teaching josh christopher then? i think it's pretty obvious that JC has clearly improved his game from summer league to preseason to now, with help from coach lucas, the as*hole.

oh right, kpj is like a ticking time bomb so he needs to be handled with kid gloves by all the coaches. good luck with that...

the biggest factor in knowing what wins games is effort... and that is something kpj has always lacked. sadly, effort isn't something that can be taught. you either have the motor or you don't.

I am done caring - this team sucks, it is meant to suck - will watch for a laugh now.....until the org gets serious and puts a true roster together with a quality coach.

The Wing Players are too damn small ( and have been for years now: Too many 6’4 forwards) , the “bigs” are too soft and did bring any toughness, the team doesn’t talk or get back on defense, the team can’t run an efficient offense because they don’t have a lead guard ( with a brain) and The head coach can’t hold these players accountable, seems lost and in over his head. It’s a mess.

Honestly, it is YEARS away - and it looks to me like once players get developed they will jump ship and go somewhere else - we have turned into the Sacremento Kings.....think of it this way, D'Antoni walked, Morey walked - they didn't want to work for this jackass that is running the team - I think we are in for a decade of losing.

I really hope not but I hear ya. I really hope it’s a short term deal. I have a family member that plays for the Wolves so It’s kind of weird being elated for him and this frustrated at the Rockets. Last night was brutal to watch. But Hopefully Stone has a big trade deadline shake up planned.

KPJ and Green had almost identical numbers last game except Porter had 8 assists. KPJ is just the latest player for ClutchFans to sh*t on during this re-build process. I like both players and think both have all-star potential. Hopefully, the Rockets are more patient than all the doomsayers on this forum. Give the Rockets and effective center that can set picks, roll to the hoop, and play defense and people would begin to see what is possible with these two guys.

    I suppose Twiggy is Wood.

I think it does not matter that much that Theis is Green's Go to as you said.

Last time I checked dude played 6 games in December and only 2 games in January.

He does not play enough to matter IMHO. And when he plays it does not translate to winning a game or two.

Thats why i never bought „KPJ has talent just need a chance”. He had all the chances and still have. Just ****s all of them up. Vassilis Spanoulis didnt have a chance. Sengun barely gets a chance. KPJ got board benching Wall just so he can play starter minutes

At this point i think its Stone forcing KPJ to get his value up so he can justify letting Jarret Allen go. Because he choose Oladipo and KPJ over Jarret and now we end up with no Harden and with two scrubs, one already gone and another that should be gone soon
