I’m not saying he’s a better scorer or anything, just that he can get his shot off easier. Also, don’t forget Jalen got to experience the nba 3pt line in the g league. Idk who’s gonna be better and idc bc they’re both on the rockets

Those 14 games in a covid league bubble tournament haphazardly created weeks before the tournament aren't the difference between Green and Jabari's rookie year.

Kind of strange that this even has to be laid out.

I don't see any indication why Jabari will be a better shooter.

Green is a career 34% shooter from 3 and Jabari is a career 30% shooter from 3. And that's with Green taking a lot more difficult attempts.

You can’t be serious right now. He was a rookie!!!! KD even shot 29% his rookie season. Jabari is a better shooter, it’s obvious. He’s gonna prove that through his numbers soon. So do you think Jalen is a better shooter than KPJ?

No KPJ is a better shooter than Green at least now in their current respective stages of development. Would Green be a better shooter by his 4th year where KPJ made a jump in shooting? Maybe. KPJ had a 32% 3pt percentage his first two years in the NBA.

Kpj will probably be the team's best shooter next season.

Why? KPJ had a 32% 3 pt percentage his first two years. Green is at 34%.

I don't know what tells you Jabari will be a better shooter? Because on offense that's the only avenue he has any hope of being better than Green at because of the immense physical talent and ball skill talent difference between the two? Is that why you are pinning your hopes of Jabari being a better shooter?

KJ shot 36% and 35% his first 2 season, so he’s gonna be a better shooter than Jalen?

What type of 3 pt shots is KJ taking and at what volume?

You would have somewhat of an argument if it was Jabari taking the contested off the dribble 3s all the time and Green was mostly spotting up. But Green has the higher percentage AND takes more difficult threes.

Okay, what about KD? Jalen shot better from 3 as a rookie. So does that mean he’s a better shooter than KD? I’m curious about this one lol

    No. KD has probed otherwise.

You have to give a reason why you think Jabari will be a better shooter. You haven't.

Bc he’s a generational shooter coming into the league. A lot of times it takes them time to get acclimated. He’s been a great shooter his entire life, that’s why he went high in the draft

You can provide the same exact excuses for Jalen. He entered the league at 19. He came into a bad situation. He still shot better with more difficult attempts. Jabari has to prove otherwise. He had to show it. You can just hand it to him.

Not as a shooter. Jalen projects to just flat out score the basketball! I do believe he’s gonna be a good defender when he gets bigger and stronger

While I hope both guys will turn out to be elite scorers, I think Smith will likely have a better career shooting percentage than Green.

Jabari's rookie shooting is abnormally low. It's not likely sustainable. Using his rookie percentage to judge how good a shooter he is will probably not accurate at all. And Green's style means he will shoot more self-created shots than Smith. That will result in lower percentage. It is not a knock on Green. It's just the nature of the game. Guards are generally not as efficient as big men because they self-create more.

Welp, I am contributing to derailing the thread. This is supposed to be a KPJ thread. Why are we talking about Green and Smith? Dude, you have a knack of derailing because every thread is a Green thread to you.
