Correct, that’s why harden was a big positive. Even if he turns it over 5 times, but used half the possessions, the team turnovers will be really low. Kpj is a massive turnover over without the massive usage. He’s basically a reverse luka

 

Or if you have a coach who understands why creating triangles are important in basketball and in what situations they should be used.

 

Just that he wasn’t ever kpj bad, except the one year he was injured and barely played.

I don't believe made up analytics and advanced stats tell the entire story - because at the beginning of the funnel it is a HUMAN deciding something and that is starting with a flawed premise.

I like stats - just don't put my entire thought process into them as a final tell all solution or answer.

dont care about the ratio as long as he successfully engages and feeds most of the players
his ratio may not be good because the ratio doesn't include hockey assists but if he gets the ball to people who need it, in most opportune places, at most opportune times, it doesn't matter if he has 10 turnovers a game and ratio of 0.5 ...

i would always gladly sacrifice 10 turnovers for acquiring better shots and feeding all the players who need to be fed....because the team TS , energy, rhythm and the flow will makeup for it more than it can be imagined

now i am not saying hes that player but that should be the criterion and not the ratio...

 

It's pretty established at this point that Nix is straight trash. Garuba's numbers are heavily skewed due to number of possessions.

His ast/to ratio has gotten worse every year he has been in the league.

 

They are - every single one of them has a weighted algorithm giving points for one thing more so than others - and the initial number that goes in the funnel is defined by a human.

There are some that are simple.....etc......but the majority of the advanced statistics are flawed...they are like PER

He was a terrible 2.6 assists to 2.0 turnovers last season, this season he's 2.5 assists to 2.1 turnovers. We should probably cut him, right?
