Basically trading Gordon and House for picks? I know Stone will not use next years number 1 on this ****. Are they really that obsessed with Cade?
Stone getting aggressive wouldn’t be surprised if Cade has already had a secret workout with the Rockets and we’ll hear about it in the article that comes after a trade is completed
Next year’s pick should be untouchable or at least lottery protected. I do trust Stone’s ability to assess talent so I’m not going to obsess over trade ups or downs in this draft.
That really means we would be trading Gordan and one of 23, 24 to go 1. In Stone I trust, Tillman not so much.
Unfortunately it’s not as simple as that. Houston would also have to take back some trash from the Pacers in addition to giving up Gordon and one of their late firsts for 13. That’s the main reason why I wouldn’t do it. Dumping Gordon would be great, but there’s a cost to doing that.
For sure. If a deal is there with Detroit Id say its even money they go Green anyway. Cade (or Green or Mobley), #13, & #23/24 is quite an injection of young talent. Would set the Rockets up nicely.
So, wait. Is the theory that Stone wants to trade up to 13 to package that with our 2 to move up to one? If true, that's some 3D chess.
Expiring Jeramy Lamb does the job. It really comes down to how highly does Houston value Cade, how high does Indy value Gordan, and would 2 and 13 net 1.
We’ll only be left with one late first round pick. Not both. It’s going to take Eric Gordon + pick 23 *or* 24 to acquire Indiana’s 13th pick.
