We'd better have a trade or signing already in place to replace Freddy. Shepp is not ready, at least on defense. Would prefer to use assets to get a player to replace Fred AND Jalen, but I would settle for one or the other. The offense would look so much better with an actual playmaker. Edit: Amazing, the Rockets won 52 games with the current backcourt. Testament to the defense and guys player their dicks off.
Might as well add Bari to that trade package, as there is no way there would be enough money to go around. Not worth it to move up to the #3 pick. Would you do it for a chance to take Harper?
Like if Philly had #2 instead of #3? Probably not. Amen is 1A and Sengun is 1B and Harper's a gamble not worth giving up all we'd have to in order to do so. I dont want to bring anyone who will take touches away from Amen. Period. I frankly want to remove players that do that as it is and surround him and Sengun with skillsets that fit around them. So Reed, Jabari, Cam, Dillon and Tari can stay. Jalen and FVV need to go. I want FVV gone because everyone seems to naturally defer to him as the elder. Like CP3 does to teams. Eventually his presence is a limiter. That's where we might be right now.
Doesn’t he say this **** every year? We could trade up, take the pick or trade down. And those are all the options we have, we’ll do the one we think improves the team. Yawn. What’s the deal with the tears about rookie playing time? Just because we’re not some slap ass tank job doesn’t mean we’re good to turn the tap off. I mean what good does it do to forgo talented players? Because you think we have enough?! Unless and until we’ve got 15 surefire hall of famers running 82-0 chip campaigns several years in a row, to a man all talking about how happy they are to take discount contracts to ruin professional basketball for another few years… that’s some bullshit to me. This team is categorically not that, and not good enough to say having another top ten pick to develop is too much. I mean the sour grapes involved in having a legit team that also gave Reed Sheppard a year to get better is one of the more stupid takes that’ve made the Rockets rounds. We need an immediate improvement? Hire a free agent who’s had development time. Legit if your stance is we need to get better now but think the way is via teenagers getting drafted I hereby revoke your driving privileges. You a big dummy.
Reality is, as much as I'm in favor of moving off of #10 (I don't think it's a great spot for us given our glut of young talent--more value in trading up or trading back)--it tends to be difficult to actually find a good trade like that on or leading up to draft night. So unless a big trade materializes for an upgrade to the roster and #10 is involved in that, the most likely outcome is that we just make the pick again.
At this point, I think you're in love with Jalen. That's the only explanation for an obsession like this. By the way, no judgment here - I just hope you're honest with your feelings.
Hey man, at least you're honest with your feelings about Sheppard. @Downtown Sniper needs to come out of the closet.
I know, right? I've been all over the ESPN Trade Machine (with no satisfaction because Jalen Green's next-season value grayed out until Joo-ly!)
Why would Chicago trade Kobe White? He is only 24 years old and is only due 12 million next year (8% of the cap). Chicago has a horrible habit of holding on to guys far too long. Good lord, they still have Vuc. Only explanation is they would rather be mediocre than embrace a full rebuild. With that being said, I could see them entertaining a deal as Kobe only has one year left on his deal.
You guys may laugh but according to my sources - look for Raffy Stonetitta to take a few "big swings" - if the price is right DEVELOPING
