Green, # 10 and parts for # 3 and Paul George. Give Philly some cap relief and choose between Edgecombe and Bailey.
trade #10 this year, paired with the 2027 brooklyn swap to brooklyn for the 27, 29 and 31 nyk 1sts. 3 for 2 swap similar to the phx/bkn swap and kick the can down the road. I see some serious value in those 29 and 31 unprotected picks
Trade back and get more picks. Having a 4-18th is the same value. Nobody is sticking out more than the other.
10th pick and Cam Whitmore, it really feels like that can happen. 4th Charlotte, 5th Jazz, 6th Wizards pick for 10th and Cam Whitmore.
While I think it's unlikely BKN is decisive enough about their future plans this summer to do this exact trade, I think this is the range of value Stone and the FO would consider. Some of the other suggestions in this thread... We are 1,000% not trading out of a lottery pick in a strong draft for just a single future FRP, or near-term protected picks etc. The minimum bar is the SAS-MIN deal last year for #8 in a very weak draft: two years of far future unprotected draft control from a second apron team. Yes this #10 pick is a luxury for us. But because it's a luxury Stone won't do a deal that might look like he's "losing the trade", he has no need to expose himself to looking bad like that. He can sit pretty.
HELL NO, not until we find out what he will be. You don't trade assets with as much potential as he has - just because they are pissed that weak minded fools are getting minutes ahead of them. DD
But why? I thought they were gonna draft the next franchise player with it, who was gonna round up the core to ten.
Agreed. I can see getting in the #6 to #8 range with Cam plus #10. And those teams (Washington, New Orleans, and New Jersey) might be able to get their guy at #10. Let's say Utah takes Tre Johnson. Does Washington want Kon Knuppel? Jeremiah Fears? Khaman Maluach? Egor Demin? Kasparas Jakucionis? None of these guys would immediately move the needle for the Wizards, but the Houston front office might think one of them would fit exceptionally well with our group, and giving up on Cam might be a mild case of addition by subtraction. We don't have minutes for Cam and another young player, so why not consolidate and acquire a talent that can fill a need (shooting, playmaking, size at the guard position, shot blocking off the bench, etc.) If you wait until #10, you will still get a talent, but you have a horrible/impossible minutes crunch.
If the Rockets do something this off-season then it will mean that something has been done. If they do nothing then they will not have to worry about being unburdened by what has been. - Kamylia Haryes
This is shaping up perfectly to be a deal with the Nets. While they have close to $100M to spend, I don’t see anyone of significance signing with them because they are in the midst of a reset, if not a rebuild. Might as well let teams park some contracts there and pick up some valuable picks. They need a PG, so do a FVV for Cam Johnson swap in conjunction with this. FVV would be an attractive contract for them because it’s just one year. It opens up $25M in cap relief for us that would allow us to re-sign Adams and use all of the MLE without going into the luxury tax.
I’m absolutely fine trading the pick to move up or for an upgrade. I don’t love the players who will likely be available at 10. I don’t love the idea of trading it for future assets, though. It’s time to be aggressive.
Personally insulting players on the team you ostensibly root for and who you have never met is low class crap. That’s Bobby-esque. You should be better than that.
