I swear to god if we end the night with yet another player that can't shoot the damn ball.

No matter who we draft or trade for, he'll end up not being able to shoot. It's tradition. You could bring Bird, Curry, Allen, etc. here and "wth happened to his shot?!" lol. :D EG may have been an exception - I'd have to look.

Most GMs have learned that protected picks are pretty worthless.

Since the Harden trade, unprotected picks are now in high fashion.

I'm with you man. I'm tired of drafting individuals that put up bricks.

I really want Sheppard but if we can secure multiple picks in one of the worst drafts in years, then that's not bad.

    Best case scenario:

    #1 ATL - Sarr

SA trades #4 & future FRP to WSH for #2

    #2 SAS - Risacher

    HOU-MEM trade:
    #3 + #44 + Tate to MEM for #9 + #39 + 2025 FRP (top 5 protected) + 2027 FRP (unprotected) + Kennard
    #3 MEM - Clingan

    HOU-WSH trade:
#9 + 2027 FRP (top 5 protected) of HOU, PHX, MEM, or BKN to WSH for #4
    #4 Sheppard

    #39 AJ Johnson

    NT-MLE on Jalen Smith

After draft, Brooks + 2027 FRP (top 5 protected) of HOU, PHX, MEM, or BKN to Orlando for Jonathan Isaac

    FVV - Shep - AJJ
    Thrilla - Amen - Kennard
Isaac - Cam - Uncle Jeff
Bari - Tari - Jalen Smith
    Sengawd - Adams - Landale

    I think we need a 2026 more than a 2027.

If SA is still at 4, I totally agree... if they move out of that spot, there's an opportunity.

In the scenario imagined, you pick up an extra FRP and still get your guy (both Rox and Wiz)

I just worry that in your plan, if Green plays well and Whitmore takes a standard 2nd year step, the highest paid SG on the roster is getting 0 minutes. If he gets minutes, then we’re benching Cam who is doing everything right and perfect to be a backup SG.

Really tough for me to see why you’re pessimistic about both our SG’s. Jalen I can understand, but Cam Whitmore is like a gift from god to be the absolute perfect backup and insurance behind Jalen. Wouldn’t an Eric Gordon suffice for safety?

I guess we can put this to rest now that we drafted Sheppard - who is essentially Simons with better defense and bball IQ. If none of these 3 do well, we don’t need to acquire anyone else, we should fire the entire front office and coaching staff.
