I’m guessing no.9 and smart. Maybe we can entice them to throw n Kennard for landale or Tate

    Ew.
Just take the guy at #3, don't trade for dudes who will be in their mid 30s by the time our guys are 27.

Keep the pick and draft Sheppard.

I feel like #9 + Smart is too much for #3 and Memphis would say no. Also not sure about Smart's role on this team unless we trade away FVV in a separate trade.

I also am not sure they give us a completely unprotected first just to move up 6 spots. Maybe a lightly protected one?

In any case, I'll take Devin Carter at #9 and the future first rounder, to stay flexible.

Vince Williams Jr > Marcus Smart

He’s not a household name but he’s got a really well rounded game that would fit fantastic for us

I'd be interested in Brandon Clarke, but might need more than that to move down

I'll take GG or Jaren Jackson JR

    Otherwise let's take Reed Sheppard.

I doubt Knect is there at 9

We need to just take Sheppard. If they don’t like Shepp, I’d rather draft Salaun or Topic at 3 then move back and hope one gets there. Smart serves no purpose here.

Id the want to give us an unprotected first that we can defer as needed the next couple drafts I might think about it.

Rockets are smart. They're going to get BPA and assets. Sheppard will be there at 9 or Cody Williams.

The news screams more that Rockets FO view the top 3-9 more or less in the same tier. If it boils less about upside and more on role players, they seem to prefer more vet depth.

My understanding is that there’s a long standing relationship with the Memphis front office. They are one of the teams on a short list for the rockets to deal with. I don’t trust that Rafel has good relationships around the league, but I know Memphis is one. I think this rumor has some truth to it.

Doesn't make sense to me unless it's an absolute haul. Just stay at 3 and get Sheppard

Wow, the Rockets are gonna trade back and lose The Good Sheppard™, the Golden Sheppard™? CF faints. ;)

Grizz are trying to get back on track winning.

You aren’t getting Bane, Jaren or GG Jackson and probably not Smart either. Luke Kennard? There’s your white shooter. :D He has a 2024-25 team option due at the end of this month. ($14.7M, would be expiring) Or perhaps a future first.

Im warming to this. I’d rather trade down and grab him at 7 while adding something else. But Reed wouldn’t be bad at all. I don’t believe he’s a star but he could open the floor for a lot guys to do their thing.
