Levert is the second best player in that package. Dude is coming off a career ruining injury. he's never going to be above replacement level again.

The issue is the timeline and what we're looking at with a rebuild. If we had a lot of assets and young players to build around Simmons it would be one thing (though even then, Simmons is more like a top 15-20 guy rather than a top 5-10 guy). It's going to be pretty hard to make the playoffs in the west for the next few years if we tear it down and just have Ben Simmons. Our timeline is going to go out a while.

You have to shoot in this league man, I am sorry, but its non negotiable. I'm not saying he isn't a talented player. But they aren't magical beans, they are draft picks, that's how you build a franchise. Bringing Simmons here for Harden would be an absolute robbery. He has not proven by any stretch that he can be a Harden level talent.

 

Levert was just playing the best basketball of his career in the bubble right before the playoffs. What are you talking about?

There many teams rich with suitable assets like the Nuggets, the Celtics, the Heat.

I agree with T for three. Simmons is good but he’s nowhere in the same ballpark as Harden. If you make that trade you better be getting three or four first round draft picks and complementary players in return. I think the Rockets to try to trade for another young star like Mitchell, Murray, or Lillard. Murray would be a dream come true. The kid was clutch in the playoffs, something we didn’t see from Harden

 

Ummm ... Simmons makes less $ than Tobias Harris. Tillman wants a team where no one makes any money? How good does he imagine that team would be?
