I was a huge Laker fan because I live in LA and Magic was my idol & schoolmate. Let me tell you what the hatred came from. In my opinion, it was Kobe who single-handedly dismantled my once-beloved team. (maybe I should thank him because I feel great now whenever Rockets beats Lakers)。 I don't care about the rape or any of his peronal life as long as he did good to his team. But look at what he has done to his team: Yeah, he could score 81pts in a game. BUt he also could play for half a game without shooting once because he was told he should share some of his not-good-selected shoots. When Lakers had the best team on paper and had a very good chance to another Championship, he kicked his partner, his coach away, even his only 'friend' who had supported him the whole time during his rape event. While, kicking Shaq away might be understandable becuase Kobe wanted to have his own team. He doesn't want to live in the shadow of someone his whole life and besides, he got some rings for LA already. But kicking Karl (who cut his compensation to one-tenth to get the ring) away with a 'friendly flirt'' which was trigged by his wife, come on, that's too rediculous and stupid and unforgivable. Mark my word: Lamor will be traded within 2 years and Kobe will never get another ring again because no other stars could play with him shoulder by shoulder (while, there is an exception: Yao might tolorate him more than anyone else in the league because of his background. But unfortunately for Kobe & 'HIS' Lakers and fortunately for Rockets, Yao will play for Rockets and get rings for Houston in the coming years). Go enjoy your numbers at home, Kobe, because that will be the only thing left for you in the rest of your life. You will be remembered as the most selfish player in a team sports who happened to get 3 rings playing with MDE. Great player? forget it!!! Talent wise, both Labron and Tracy could do what Kobe did if they wanted to do it. But they won't because they are the true leaders on the court who understand what the best interest is for a team.
Kobe is a team player. have you played NBA jam, you pick Kobe and once you hit 3 in a row, you go on fire and you dont have to pass the ball, just keep shooting the ball.
Nah, Kobe already tried that. Kobe earlier in the season was a little more unselfish, but it didn't translate into wins because his teammates were not making shots. That means his supporting cast is a joke and he has to take more shots because his current teammates can't get it done. Kobe's teammates right now are just slightly better than what T-Mac had in T-Mac's last two years in Orlando. Is there anything more overblown than Kobe's selfishness. I wish T-Mac was more selfish. All great players have some degree of selfishness. Hakeem was pretty selfish. How many times did Hakeem yell to his teammates to get him the ball in the post. Heck, no one was more happy to see Cassell traded than Hakeem Olajuwon. This is a carbon copy of what Michael Jordan was going through back in the years of 1986-88. MJ was scoring a ton because, guess what, his supporting cast during this time period sucked.
Easy, easy, man. You want to know the truth? Can you handle the truth? Here is the truth: ... sorry, dude, It's Clutch who posted this on the classic banner. He keeps reminding everyone...
The way I see it, it takes three things to score that many points in a game: * insane talent * outrageously large ego * crappy teammates Jordan would've scored 80+ in a game, except his teammates were talented enough that the Bulls played better when MJ kept everyone involved. The exception would be D-Rob's 71 points, but that night he was gunning for a scoring championship and everyone on his team was feeding him the ball all night long.
Kobe=results t-mac=excuses you've just proven my point, and i ask you again, do you think Kobe would ever have a season like T-Mac's last in Orlando? look I understand this is a rocket site, and I understand Kobe's is not likeable, but let's bring a little realism in this discussion. you guys forced people to criticize t-mac to bring you guys back to earth.
i agree. tmac needs to man up and grow a pair, get a spine replacement or something. **** with technology today, anythings possible if you keep your mind on physics.
What I think is most amazing about this is Kobe scored 81 and One thing I can say about Kobe He played Good D I won't say the greatest but STRONG good Defense Kobe > T-mac I know folx hate to hear it but it is true Kobe is a better scorer and a better Defender Assist Kobe 4.4. T-Mac 4.4 Rebounding Kobe 5.1 T-mc 6.4 TO Kobe 2.8 T-mac 2.7 PTS: Kobe 23.5 T-Mac 22.1 the stats IMO don't tell the tale of the scoring but i wanted to be fair and show all the info Rocket River
Man, that was funny! You know why it is so funny...because it's true! In yesterday's game and the Dallas game, Kobe's teammates just kept giving him the ball and let him shoot. But say this for Kobe, the whole stadium knew he was gonna keep shooting and nobody could do anything about it (I am a little peeved by the refs who seemed to be giving him touch fouls).
Thank you, I have just accomplished what I was trying to bait you do, I knew your McGrady hating ways would pop up sooner or later, thanks for showing your true colors, Franchise lover. Now, be a good boy and go root for the Magic or the Lakers, I know you're still down from the Francis trade, you're still bitter about it. So transparnet, what a joke!
You and pgabriel should get a room. It's cool if you think Kobe is a better player, there is nothing wrong with that. However, having watched both play, McGrady is twice the on-the-ball defender that Kobe is, and twice the passer he's; I am not talking assists here, I am talking someone who's a sharp passer and distributes the ball like a Jason Kidd can, while not being a PG. Kobe might be the better scorer (although McGrady is no slouch there either) but I will take an all-around better player who will make his teammates better over Kobe, which I believe McGrady is. It's cool to disagree on that, but as I said, McGrady's all-around game IMO is better than Kobe's, and I also believe he's one of those rare superstar talents than make everyone around them play better and can share the spotlight. I think Kobe and AI -- two great players by all means -- are moer similar in the sense that they have a hard time taking care of their teammates and keeping them involved, although I will give AI credit for trying his best to play the point this season. IMO, McGrady and LeBron are the two best all-around players in the league. When Jordan was tearing it up in the 80's with his scoring, I did think Magic was the better player simply because he was a great teammate. IMO, the marque of a great player is being a great teammate, but I understand scoring is more glamorous and therefore people tend to confuse the best scorer with the best player. So based on that outlook on NBS basketball, I think Steve Nash is hands-down the MVP of the league. The funny thing is I wasn't completely sold on him last season, but after watching him this season the evidence is overwhelming; he's even better than last year, so I don't see how he won't get it, quiet honestly.
agreed, 81 points in today's era of basketball is amazing during wilt's era it wasnt too hard to score against the kind of defenses wilt faced but scoring that much these days is ridiculous. Toronto's head coach should be fired, doesnt even know how to double/triple team a guy
LOL! No need to really, people can just go back and use the search function to dig up your previous posts to understand where you're coming from. It's alright, though, enjoy the Lake-show.
