I like lamar's game, but let's wait till he has a track record of consistent production before we blame his woes on Showbe.
Thanks for reminding me, Russell should've been on that list. I love Hakeem as much as the next guy, but on the national scene he's not considered an 'immortal'. I think you need somewhere around 5 championships for that.
I've always thought that Tmac has more natural talents than Kobe in terms of scoring. However, I don't think Tracy has the me-first attitude to take 50 shots and score 80 points, especially with a player like Yao on this team. If anyone will ever score 80 again anytime soon, it will be Bryant again. He's the only player who's allowed to take over 2/3 of his team's shots in a game right now.
Agreed - T-mac is great - but Kobe has just demonstrated that he is among the greatest pure scorers in the history of the planet. Not saying I'd rather have Kobe, but as far as scoring goes - he's on a very short list right now.
OK, I have a question: why do so many people hate Kobe Bryant? Let's look at it this way. Comes out of high school, definitely talented but a little on the cocky side (note: 2 airballs against Utah in the closing seconds of a playoff game). Then, he teams with Shaq. Now, who is the one giving himself all the nicknames and proclaiming himself MDP? From what I remember, Kobe is definitely the 2nd fiddle and doesn't bring a great deal of attention to himself. Then, he gets booed mercilessly at the All-Star game in Philly, his hometown, which I felt was in extremely poor taste (and this was before the alleged rape situation). Then, the alleged rape. Suspicious, but not proven. Then, the Shaq ouster- facilitated as much by Shaq's contract demands as Kobe. So, out of all of this, what I'm saying is: is he really that dislikable? I just don't get it. The whole, "well, he think's he so great..." doesn't mean squat- if someone's not saying it, it's really unfair to judge someone's arrogance. I mean, from everything he says to the media, I just don't see it. I can't see where all the hatred comes from. Maybe a little, but not to the degree he gets. I guess some have reason to, but how many would take him on their team, warts and all?
dude is considered extremely selfish. look up some articles on google. when he was dating Moesha or whatever her name was, she mentioned some dates were going back to his parents place and watching film of himself playing basketball. there was one game kobe wanted to prove he wasnt selfish so he never took any open jumpers but passed the ball. when the cops busted him with that girl in denver, he said 'well shaq cheats on his wife'. (DOCUMENTED). its not his fault, but he's a rich kid growing up. his dad was a proplayer. Iverson was from the street. In philly, the lower class kid making it gets alll the love. see ROCKY. also he had a horrible rap single. worst than shaqs.
Do you think that Kobe would draw nearly as much attention as he does now if he were not hated so much around the country? As for why Kobe is hated so much, it's simple as this: the guy is a loner. The American culture does not tolerate someone like him. End of story.
I'll admit that if T-mac were to go off for 81 points, I would be ecstatic...so I give Kobe his props. I think Tracy, AI, or Lebron could all get pretty close (at least 70 pts) if they were absolutely on like Kobe was, and put up 48 shots plus 20 free throws. We'll probably never see it from any of them though because they all have more help and a different system than Kobe (I.E. don't have to control the offense at all times).
and he had a quiet 26 point first half he had 55 points in the second half that's still more than a lot og NBA players' career best for a whole game btw no one said 81 was the highest and tmac's best is 62 points vs wizards on 04
Shaq wanted more money, and he is not worth it anymore, look at shaq now. I do feel a healthy YAO will beat him
miami made it to the eastern conference finals game 7. the lakers didn't make the playoffs. i agree, a healthy yao is good, but thats not the case now.
They couldn't pay both of them, Shaq is older his career is almost over, Kobe is young and is an iron man, could probably play till he's 40. It was actually a common sense decision to let Shaq go. I'm sure any owner would have done the same.
What's the meaning of these 81 points? Show everyone you are a super man? Tmack already had those crazy days in Orlando. He knows what's the best way to play.
man, you reply soo fast, what are you doing! KB missed lots of games last year, ODOM also missed ton of games. otherwise they would make it, but only 7 or 8 seeds. if put HEAT in the west? maybe second-round only
