To me, its more impressive for a guard to score that many points than it is for a big man.

have you heard of a man named wilt?

and really...kobe could have had two 80+ games this season if he stayed on the court the whole damn time. remember 62 points in 3 quarters and him sitting the whole 4th.

    you sir, are a dumbass.

give credit where credit is due and stop being such a hater.

LOL, it's funny how many people come here and name other players when the thread is supposed to be about the 81 points that Kobe just scored.

The guy does bring a lot of hateration doesn't he?

ditto. I can't hardly stomach the guy but he is mesmerizing to watch. Kobe may care more about his stats than other superstars but the truth of the matter is, the Lakers have the best chance of winning with the ball in Kobe's hands. For this year at least, they should look to get him the ball every time down the court and let him shoot it, or draw the D and dish, just give him the choice and get out o' the way. Have 2 players spotted up on the perimeter and 2 garbage men on the glass and let him shoot it. You gotta hand it to him. He's amazing.

But..............................................a playoff level defensive team will knock down his shooting percentage taking that many shots and deem that style of play ineffective. I would think that if the Lakers make the playoffs, they will be wiped off the court in the first round, that is unless Lamar and somebody else comes to the party big time. It takes more than one man stepping up to win in the playoffs.

ahh did i make you cry?

i dont like kobe but i never said i was not impressed. he's the best scorer in the NBA by far. im sure he can drop 100pts on the raptors if he plays him more than twice a year.

they were up by 18pts and he was still in the game so he can get his points.
part of me says embarassing a team like that is not cool. they took kobe that earlier game when he had 60pts at half not to embarass the other team. oh well its just the raptors so no one cares.

can i get you a tissue? im sorry i hurt your feelings.

Here's a thought: I will make this game my first download from Google Video. This should be worth the 4 bucks.

Quit brining negativity to this thread. If there is such a thing, you define the term, hater. Be thankful that you just witnessed a feat that will probably never be repeated.

Kobe scored 81, the Lakers won the game. What else do you want? So what if Kobe took most of the shots? He scored 81 points with a decent shooting percentage. The guy couldn't miss, if i'm the coach, I tell him keep shooting, you're on fire. What coach would tell this guy to pass the ball when he's shooting like that? The game was actually close up until the end, so it wasn't garbage points either.

the guy is doing the reverse of MJ's career...Kobe's already has the rings, now he's just padding the stat resume for his career, remember that his stats weren't that extraordinary during the Shaq era.

    yes,

dude if it were IVERSON or KEVIN GARNETT or TMAC or YAO,
    people would love it.

its because of his personality. did you remember he didn't shoot the ball at all in one game just show people that he's a unselfish player?

you can hate the guy and respect his skills at the same time.

nobody likes paris hilton, but we'd all like to make a video tape with her right?
