If anything, this should make people hate Kobe more. Think about all the games where he disappeared in the 4th quarter. If he's capable of scoring this many points by himself, then he has had the ability, he just CHOSE not to give the effort in the past.

I'm glad I didn't see this, I would've vomited. For the first time in history, I agree with Rockets03. **** Kobe. Somebody needs to slap that stupid smirk off his face. The NBA record books are tainted now. Wilt needs to rise out of his grave and give Kobe a swift caning.

    1. Kobe

Kobe is playing for his place in history...not just regular history but G.O.A.T. history. I cant say the same for Tmac, it might not be in him or he is hampered by injuries. Wilt played in a different, with no three pointers, and he got hammered alot. Kobes mid range game is better than tmac , but tmac' around the rim and three point is better. When it is all said and done Kobe will go down in the top 3 replacing Bird, and Tmac will be the next George Gervin

Kobe's performance was awesome . He told the whole raptors team: This aint what you want!!!!

So he scored 81. His team his 22-19 and definitely not a lock to make the playoffs. Impressive, yes. But he doesn't earn my respect until he becomes more of a team player, starts to trust the players around him, and wins a championship without Shaq. And I don't think he should be MVP either.

that is why you'll always prefer a player like Chauncey Billups while the rest of history will point directly at Kobe Bryant.

Since when does Kobe disappear in the 4th quarter? Kobe is known as one of the most clutch players ever. How could he get that label if he disappears in the 4th quarter?

You should watch the game before you make such blind judgements. The raptors were up by 12 at one point and the game was getting out of hand, and then Kobe turned it on. Kobe beat the Raptors, he did what he had to do to get the W.

No, that's why I'll always prefer a player like Dream or Duncan or T-Mac.

He's done it tons of times. One memorable one was 2 years ago in a game against Sacramento. For whatever reason, he decided he was bored and pretty much stopped trying. The tv announcers called it on him right there. It was one more item in the Kobe vs. Phil Jackson feud at the time.

By WHO? I've never heard anyone who isn't a blind lakers fan ever call Kobe "one of the most clutch players ever."

Yeah, like I said, that's one game. And the fact that he has that ability is all the more reason his CHOICES to not give 100 percent effort look all the more repulsive.

blind laker fans? Haven't you read all the threads on this rockets message board talking about how Lebron doesn't have the killer instinct like Kobe & Tmac. How Kobe hits the big shots when they count and how Lebron doesn't?

People may not like Kobe, they may not respect Kobe, he may be selfish, but how you can say he isnt' a clutch player is beyond me.
