I don't have the time to read your whole post but since when was Kobe the leader of the first 3 rings he got?

I think it's unfair to use stats (or misses) as a way to undermine Kobe's skills as a closer. First off, calling lebron a better closer is a lie bc for the longest time he was scared to take the last shot and frequently passed it off at the last second for others to shoot (this is well documented). People call it "trusting his teammates," I call him, chicken-$hit. You can't even be in the argument of closers if you're too scared to take the last shot.

I know when LeBron and Melo were attached to the hip by the media, ESPN had some stats between the two....something like within the last second of a close game. Melo was 4-8 and lebron was 1-6. Granted that's a small sample size, but I'd like to see some stats like that to see who "officially" is the better closer. Even though, I think if you really watch games, sometimes a shot that breaks a tie in the 3rd quarter can "win" a game.

P.S. I hate kobe, but give the man his due.

Passing to an open teammate is too scared? LeBron has a lot more game winning assists than Kobe. Yeah, he's too scared to shoot. Jordan's pass to Paxson's game winner was still one of the greatest moments in basketball history. Kobe seldom looks to pass up the chance for a game winning shot. That's actually his weakness, not strength.

Carmelo Anthony is the best scorer in my opinion.

Kobe passed to Horry for series winning shot in 02 vs. Blazers.
Kobe also passed to Fisher for game 4 winning shot last year in the finals.

Kobe knew better, he knew who could make the open shot and who could not. And he's willing to take the blame for not making the contested game winning shot.

LeBron is all about stats. He made game winning shot with 5 steps layup. The only time he made a jumper in playoff, it's hyped as if it's the best shot ever.

After the Lakers win someone always pops up.

When the Lakers lose someone is always missing.

LOL! The popin-when-winning is a staple of the Faker frontrunner fan. It guarantees that these guys never have a bad season of fandom.. but the truth is they never understand the whole point of rooting for a team. Win OR lose.

Great comeback. Good idea to ignore all the facts in the post and make a ridiculous statement on a small part of his post, so you can ignore the rest.

This just goes to show that being a "closer" is overrated. If closing games was all that mattered than Horry should be the GOAT.

So you believe that if you just take the last shot you are a closer, it doesn't matter if you make it or miss it . So I could stand there and shoot every last second shot, ofcourse I would miss them all, but in you definitio of closer I'm the best closer since I take all the shot.

While now the media and gms with the stats and production feel lebron is teh greatest player, not ever nba player agrees :

Kg: "He is (the best in the league), period," said Celtics forward Kevin Garnett, who will likely move to center Thursday in the absence of Kendrick Perkins while Rasheed Wallace will likely start at forward. "I wouldn't disagree with that. He makes his team go. He's their life, does multiple things in the game, and every time you speak of Kobe, you speak of excellence, you think of excellence. (He's a) class act, plays with a vengeance and tenaciousness, well-respected around the league. I can keep going and going."

But all the GM's when polled and majority of the players, if you have one last shot, who do you trust it to(yea hes not always gonna make it, but you trust the ball in his hand more than anyone's) you usually get from teh guys who goto battle with the dude and the people against him pay him the respect of saying ill take my chances with mr KB. These are intangibles stats can't support

LOL, so you whine after every game, win or loss, that makes you consistent, a whining b****, is that so much you can be proud of?

I can't believe how r****ded some Lakers haters are. They are shocked real fans don't actually whine like they do after a loss, how surprising.

You've never been a real fan of anything, goodbug. You are just a frontrunner who cheers for a team when they are winning and dumps them when they are losing. I'd pity you if you weren't such an arrogant fck.

You run your mouth so much faster than your brain. It's not even funny. Opposite to your thought, I've been supporting Lakers all through their down time.

I don't know what makes you so pathetic. You constantly whine after every game, no matter the team you root or root against wins or loses. You are a whining b**** that doesn't have a happy day. Worst of all, that's what you are proud of.

Are you not hugged enough when you were a kid? I feel sorry for you.

    Why is it unfair?

Do you also think it is unfair to use amounts of points scored in a game to decide who wins the game? We can just as easily watch a game and let judges decide who played better (like gymnastics)

Kobe fans like to use the term "intangibles" because objectively speaking, Kobe's numbers are mediocre (esp. in crunchtime).

The only "intangibles" Kobe has ever had are HOF teammates.

Great idea Goodbug and Clippy, lets make it a personal insult contest. That is the best way to settle a discussion .

Lets try and keep it civil and just have a friendly discussion without getting personal. It is a legit question whether Kobe (and Lebron for that matter ) deserve the reputation they have.
