It's true, but we have those holes now, so really the question is woudl you prefer T-Mac/Shane and holes, or Kobe/Artest and holes. Considering how Kobe is the best player on the planet, and Artest, problems aside, is better than Shane, you'd want the latter. When you factor in the loss of Luther and draft picks, though, you may change your mind.

What if the above trades were accomplished, then Mo Williams was signed for the MLE, then

    Houston Trades: Rafer + Juwan
Houston Recieves: Troy Murphy, Darrell Armstrong, David Harrison

Indiana gets out the final 4 years of a overpriced Murphy contract, gets a serviceable PG if they want to trade Tinsley...

then sign Jake Voshkul, Austin Croshere, or maybe Joe Smith if we're lucky to the LLE...let's say Croshere. Then re-sign Deke.

    Lineup

    PG: Mo Williams, JL3, Armstrong
    SG: Kobe, Vujacic, Artest
    SF: Artest, Bonzi, Croshere
    PF: Murphy, Hayes, Croshere
    C: Yao, Deke

Of course, I'm pretty sure this would put us in pretty bad shape salary cap wise, and seing as almost every player in that line-up is new, even with the increased talent, we'd probably win fewer games next season (though potential to go much further in the playoffs).

And to top it all off, The proposed 3 trades and signings have no chance of getting done in total, but we can hypothesize, right...

Yes. they play the audio portion on local radio. Then the guy went trying to negotate for money for it, or at least he may have done so by now.

Supposedly they're going to play it on 570AM Xtrasports today, but the site was just put up there by the guys who say they'll let us see it or whatever.

We'll see if they get on the radio show but that's what its for in all of its pathetic glory.

Its there because Kobe supposedly told the guy he had "better get ready to buy himself that Bulls jersey"

This right after the wild rumors that Chicago offered BG7 Deng, Ben Wallace and the 9th pick for Kobe.

Pretty wild rumors, for sure. Chicago has aquired some serious young talent the last few years. If Bryant ends up going there, I sure would like to get in on the deal as a third team to help make it happen. Snap some of it up.

Bryant is one frustrated dude. He's going to talk himself right out of LA.

i don't think he cares... why wouldn't he want to leave the weak Lakers and West altogether. he saw how easy it was for a less than impressive Cavs team to be in the Finals.

bryants only chance of getting to the finals in the next 3-4 years is through the east...no way in heck the lakers are going to the finals anytime soon

I heard some ESPN guy on the radio while driving home and he said Kobe started working out at UCLA instead of the Lakers facility. He said this was a really big deal and is Kobe's way of loudly saying "trade me out of here because I won't be happy no matter what you do". Kobe is still trying to burn the bridge but the Lakers may hang on to him and try to change his mind.

Yeah, he definitely needs to go East, and he knows it too. I think Kobe realizes the time to cement his legacy without Shaq is running out. He's ALL about his legacy, he's not concerned with anyone else in the league. That's what he's dedicating the remainder of his career to.

...AND he wants to be a Bull, that's my theory and I am sticking to it ;)

if Kobe goes to the bulls, I'm going to feel sorry for the lebron and the cavs. Kobe's gonna own the cavs for years to come just like mike did.

It's weird, but I think you're right. Bryant sees himself as today's Jordan, and in that goofy head of his, the guy believes the only way that will be accepted is to win a title with the Bulls. I didn't think that before (it is a pretty weird thing for the fellow to think), but these quotes we've been hearing certainly point to it.

It's like some bizarro center thinking he has to win a title with the Rocks to be accepted as the equal, or better, of the Dream. Too strange.

I hope Kobe goes to Chicago. I really doubt Ben wallace is involved in that trade though. Ben Gordon will be the main player involved though.

He wants to be again the jersey most bought, so he is out of the fakers, so everybody buys his jersey, he change his number and he was top seller again. ;) :D

I don't think Kobe is gonna get traded. The Lakers would be stupid if they did. He's their best shot at getting anywhere and the only reason the seats fill up. This whole Kobe drama is gonna blow over once the Lakers acquire another top player like Jermaine O'Neal.

I would say they have a better chance at team success if they trade Kobe for a good player plus draft picks. Something like Kobe for Okafor and 2 number ones. Kobe is obviously not enough to carry the Lakers anywhere, so they either have to move him, or have a long string of mediocrity eventually fading to the lottery like KG and the TWolves.
