ESPN 710 in LA just reported that Kobe says he wants to work things out with the Lakers but "some heads must roll".
Why is it that 90% of people hate Kobe Bryant and call him "selfish" and "rapist" yet everyone is salivating on the idea of having him on their respective team?
I was having a discussion with a co-worker over lunch today. Who would you rather have on your team Yao and Kobe or T-mac and KG? I didn't want to create another thread, but if you think this needs a seperate thread...go ahead.
He does realize that pluto is no longer a planet therefore the chances of having a team there who is willing to pay him 100 mil are very slim.
Sounds like Kobe succeeded in what he wanted even though he created needless drama. Expect Jerry West to come back. Expect the JO/KG/Gasol talks to begin [again].
Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like the general media consensus is that this is what will happen. Sounds reasonable, right now LA is Kobe, and Kobe is LA. The most desirable team for Kobe is still LA, no matter how bad they are (he loves the attention). Likewise LA's most desirable player is Kobe (you think Nicholson wants to watch anything less?). Buss will say it was a big misunderstanding and he'll fire the 'rogue' personnel in the organization. Buss and Kobe will shake hands and smile for the cameras and all will be right in LA. I think the big question mark is if West really comes back or they get some other GM (any chance they steal Colangelo?). One of the few reporters/broadcasters I take seriously is Michael Wilbon. And he's convinced West will come back, so I think it's a decent possibility.
I certainly don't. I think the prospect of seeing other stars get uprooted and moved around the league the exciting part.
I get the feeling that English is a second language for this poster, who might be Chinese. When a Chinese speaker learns English, they often get he/she mixed up because IIRC, they don't have an equivalent in Chinese. I think he meant to say SHE, not HE. Then again, you may have noticed the same thing I did and only been joking... OT: Things still going well in CS? I moved overseas to Turkey last year.
Nope. Jerry West immediately said he would not come back and undermine Kupchak, and was reportedly upset with Kobe over it. Firing Kupchak is the worst possible way to get West to come back. Evan

funny seattle gets tremendously hosed in that deal and the rockets get a huge return and flexibility, oh wait i forget its a rockets board listen to some of a 30min long kobe interview on a radio station out here in la on my break right now and it sounds like changes will be made. whats shocking so far is that no one in the front office has yet to contact kobe (or so he says) about anything yet. kobe's agent has spoken a bit to the lakers gm but outside of that, none of the buss'es or anyone else has made an effort to get in touch with kobe. thats pretty f'ed up if you ask me. your franchise player, your meal ticket asks to be traded and you dont make an effort to give him a call.
I'm thinking Kobe wants either West back or Kupchek gone and this is his way of forcing Buss to make the move.
the rockets would do that a million out of a million times. and the soncis would do that never ever ever ever
