So, let's see, we make Kobe angry because we beat the Lakers and he takes out his anger on the Mavericks. This is what the phrase "poetic justice" was invented for.

To be fair, the 1986 Champion Celtics took MJ's 63 in the chin during the first round.

Not that this Dallas team merits the comparison.

Kobe gave Dirk an elbow and a foul was called against Dirk which lead to a techinical on Dirk too. It's better than a dunk. Everybody dunks on Dirk, it's just no fun at all.

In the end, no one on the entire Lakers team had more than 5 assists, and that was Luke Walton, who probably got most of those in garbage time.

So not only is Kobe beating you, he's doing it off the dribble time and time again.

    Avery, you're a good coach, it's called a double and triple-team.

The timing couldn't have been better as I just recall seeing an article from Dirk talking about how he thinks they have a legitimate shot to win it all this year. It's nice for him to be brought down to Earth. I'm just thankful it wasn't the Rockets receiving that ass whipping. We pissed him off so he could take it out on the Mavs. I like it! I like it!! I like it!!!

Anything and anyone who embarasses the Mavies have my full support...even though in this case it's the hated Fakers, but I will begrudgingly applaud their embarassment of the Mavies.

He couldn't do it against us and we beat them without Yao. That's what matters. :p

I think Kobe scoring 62 points on us and still losing 74-72 would have been better.

I don't know if there is anyone in the NBA right now who could score 62 without even playing in the 4th quarter. Unreal.

Say what you want, but i'm all for it as long as you win the game and at the end of the third it was Kobe 62 Mavs 61. LOL. I'm glad it was against the mavs.

Possibly. I'd love to see it. Maybe AI could do the same if he had to.

Tracy may have to with all the injuries we have.

    ummm...how were we lucky?

Unlike the Mavs, we do play some sort of defense.

how many times in history has a guy outscored the other team through 3 quarters? it can't be many. i mean a person outscoring the other team for a one quarter happens somewhat frequently, but the first 3 damn quarters? seriously, when has that happened. i haven't heard anything about "the last time someone outscored" so maybe it's not a big deal, or maybe they just haven't looked it up yet.

when wilt scored 100, didn't the other team make it over 100? and i wanna say wilt scored 31 in the 4th, meaning the other probably had him beat through 3. i think the next biggest game is 81 points by wilt and teams scored way more back then so it's unlikely whatever he had through 3 was enough. same with a lot of the other big all time scores. since scoring has gone down, i can't remember too many 60+ point games in 3 quarters. so has anyone seen anything about other times an individual outscored a team for 3 quarters?

oh, and very nice to do it to the mavs. just beautiful.

I feel so stupid, I finally got league pass and I flipped through every game but my dislike for both teams led me not to even flip to the station. even worse, they were the only late game and I still refused to watch.

Well, the Mavs were off. They seldom score less than 62 points after 3 quarters. And their being off can't be attributed to Kobe. So for someone to outscore the other team, you have to be really on and they have to be really off. Since half of it can't be controlled by that player, I don't think it is a big accomplishment on his part.
