Lebron also has 4 MVPs, significantly better stats, and when he plays badly, his team loses. You never saw the Cavs win anything if he shot 6-24 from the field... Out of curiosity, in your opinion and taking into account his MVP's and stats, how many more FMVP's does Lebron need to surpass Kobe? Rashard Lewis? Really? You feel that Rashard Lewis, who averaged 5 ppg this season, is noteworthy enough to mention? And unlike Kobe, Lebron has never had the luxury of being the 2nd best player on his team for 8 seasons...
lebron will suprass kobe when his carreer end by a fair margin. Right now, u got to take into account all that kobe have done. But when lebron retires, he will be seen as the best player of the 2 and will have the hardware to back it up. MJ is head and shoulders above kobe and will always be.
James has only played 3 seasons with the type of talent Kobe had for the majority of his career. In those 3 seasons he has been to the Finals, won a title and is the favorite to win again. If he wins a title this season he will have led a team to 2, the same number as Bryant. I think he would have rather played 8 seasons with a prime Shaq. LA wouldn't have traded prime Shaq for this years version of Wade, Bosh, Allen and Lewis. He also would have rather played with a slightly worse version of Shaq and Payton/Malone. And considering how Bosh was hurt last postseason and how gimpy wade has been over the last 2 seasons, I'm sure he would have rather played with a healthy Gasol/Odom. I'm sure he would have rather had Phil Jackson as a coach. If Pat Riley deserves just as much credit then how much credit does LA mgmt deserve for going from Shaq to Gasol/Odom to Howard/Gasol/Nash?
