Dam, you sound like an bandwagon troll. Look at your signup date, username, and signature. Add it all up, bandwagon troll. You made this not even half way of the season, wow...
This kid is a flaming idiot. I bet if I hand-checked him, he would affected. He probably wouldnt score a point lol
Anyone who's old enough to have watched MJ play laughs at these debates. Easily the best player the game has ever seen. Kobe is very, very good and it's still not even close. I'm not sure Kobe would even crack my top 5 best ever (any position). Go watch four or five complete games of the Bulls in their playoff runs. Then tell me how overrated MJ was.
JLin? Lmbo!! I was really feelin your passion up until the JLin mention, whoooa lol talk about unexpected. Sigh, that was funny man. But seriously? JLin? lol I love a good story too but come on man, its blasphemous to mention Lin in the same book as MJ,KB,LBJ,KD.
Lin has passion, but to say he has more passion than Kobe is just silly. Feel like alot of people here are trashing Kobe because of something he didn't do. People do change, and Kobe's grown into more of a leader as time went on. Phil's just saying that his lack of leadership was due to circumstance, not innate dysfunction. That's like ragging on Tupac because he wasn't as eloquent as Malcolm X, even though both have accomplished and inspired just as many people.

If MJ played with a prime Shaq, they would definitely have more than 3 titles, that's for danged sure...

Kobe just don't get it. The main difference between MJ and Kobe as Phil mentioned, is leadership quality. If MJ played with Shaq, Shaq will follow MJ lead and they will win more than 3 rings. In Shaq and Kobe case, they clashed because both wanted to lead.
Then you don't know what a hand check is, it's called almost every time (and no its not just "putting your hand on them"). zones were used back then, there was an art to it though (pat riley used to b**** and moan about them). You are assuming that teams would guard Jordan with 1 person? Some teams used to double team him off the ball, triple team him on, and Detroit's Jordan rules zone was the only case of quintruple manning in nba history. it depends on which period, the last few years of Jordan's career, it was ungodly slow, which is what led to all those rule changes. Yes, it was at its slowest at the end of Jordan's career You're mistaking ebbs and flows of offensive talent, we had Allen Iverson, the grand master of the chuck as an nba mvp, the nba in kobe's early years was **** compared to the talent of Jordan's generation, and from the 2003 draft class onwards. and a decrease in basketball skills, don't forget that part. More 3 pointers (You are aware that Jordan never had a 3 point line until college, and that no one thought it was more than a gimmick at the time right? It took time to develop something he never considered when he was younger), you will lose fg % by taking 3's, but Kobe's not a very good 3pt shooter either. Of course he got more in the paint, he had better hands, better body control and a stronger upper body....and that's despite the frequency of soft fouls being called today. He took smarter shots, and was a better finisher, of course he was a better half court scorer, but that doesn't even touch half the equation, because Jordan's movement and off the ball skills made his team mates so much better than Kobe ever has. Jordan was the only elite scorer on his team for his entire career, so he had to be (Pippen was a great player, but an elite scorer he was not). Phil Jackson didn't say MJ was better for any reason other than that MJ was actually better, and it's not something the non Kobe stans haven't known for years.
but its mike d'antoni offensive system that inflates the states. no way kobe wouldve had a better year if it wasn't because of the coach.
I don't like LBJ being put above Kobe for two reasons: -James has only one ring, and has had just as much, if not more bad playoffs ousts than Kobe -Teaming up with Wade AND Bosh, now w/ Ray Allen and Lewis? Really? I think if LeBron ever becomes one of the greatest, then Pat Riley deserves just as much credit. All in all, some people here really don't respect Kobe's legacy as much as they should.
So very true. I'm not even a Kobe fan, but my goodness some people are just blind haters....Clippy being the leader of the Kobe hate clan. Kobe's resume speaks for itself, and it's pretty embarrassing to see people just basically ignore it. However...having said that...I would still say MJ > LBJ > Kobe. Reason being because: A) First of all, I think most of the people, including me, just project where they will end up. I don't think anybody thinks Lebron's career so far has outdone Kobe's career, but more people just seeing until the end of Lebron's career. With that in mind, Lebron looks like he will easily pass up Kobe. More MVP's, potentially more rings, more Finals MVP's, etc. B) Lebron's the all around better player. He's a better passer than Kobe's ever been, better defender, better rebounder. Kobe edges him in the offensive arsenal, but not by a whole lot, if at all. Not to mention Lebron's crazy efficiency...
People tend to forget that Michael Jordan was a prick to play with for much of his career. Since he's Michael Jordan him being prick gets interpreted as him being a "leader". Read "The Jordan Rules".
