So when Kobe went to the lotto post shaq and was no higher than a 7th seed before last yr, did he stop being great or was he not great, merely riding shaq coattails?

you get a pass if you have Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm, Brian Cook, Smush Parker and Luke Walton playing major minutes on your team

I remember Kobe going up 3-1 in the playoffs and ended up losing too. I remember him getting sweeped by Phoenix yet again. I remember him missing the playoffs one year. One man can't make a difference this is a team game

Tmac plays more of a forward than Kobe does. Rockets have players who actually box out so if they can't rebound, they tip it out for the player close to it can grab it

Assists are misleading...the triangle offense prevents one player from posting high assist numbers. The offense is build to spread the wealth

Ok stop me when u hear a really good player, Rafer,Battier, hayes, howard, bowen, . The one big name u left off was odom. Did I mention the lotto yr he had caron and odom and was lotto land? What about last yr when yao missed 35 games and the lineup was scola, battier, rafer, tracy, and deke. On the bench was 2 rookies, hayes, bobby jackson.

    WRONG!

Some Rockets fans don't care about freaking any of that crap! Tmac isn't great cause he isn't! Rockets don't need to win championships or even get past the first round to prove anything to any of you! And if the Rockets lose, it is ALWAYS Tmac's fault!
you get it? Team never messes up, it is always Tmac! And if he misses his shot that's cause he doen't go to the basket, can you make layups if you don't go to the basket? don't think so. We some Rockets fans don't care if the Rockets win or lose, its not important. Do you think some of us Rockets fans give a damn about winning a championship? we don't even care about getting past the first round!

We only care about showing you that Tmac is not great, not because he hasn't achieved anything, its because he couldn't if he wanted to.

Lakers, Cavs, 96' Bulls, 6X' 76ers, Heaven, they can't compete with Rockets and if they did, its because Tmac has no heart. Continue hating Tmac!

    - Rafer is a good on the ball defender and can string together some hot games like he's doing right now...Has smush EVER?

    - Battier can hit the 3, do the dirty work, play phenomenal defense...leadership, a stable level headed player who does a lot that doesn't show up on the box score

    - Howard...can knock down the occasional jumpshot. I dunno much about Bowen

    - Odom? how bout Yao?

    - Damn right that bench and those role players...they suck so much they won 22 in a row

    - Caron, Odom and Kobe played barely half a season together and their coach quit in the middle of the season due to health concerns

    I meant . . . Kobe has a few more games.
I think at the end of the day . . it don't matter

    Rocket River
Scoring 30 in the 1st 3 quarters and then nothing in the final one
does not equal scoring 10 in the final quater

I'm not Tmac hater. . . but comparisons to Kobe are just a bit much

I’m not necessarily saying he that because of his playoff wins. I’m saying that because has played exactly the same way under different coaches and systems. His style of play is the same under Rick Adelman as it was under JVG. While others on his team are making an effort to play within Rick Adelman system, he is doing his own thing. How is that making his team better? Sure his stats will look good, except his shooting percentage, but during playoff time it will be a problem.

Problem is, Kobe's improving while T-Mac's in steady decline. Not hatin', just sayin'.

Kobe plays really good all season long but doesn't really elevate his game in the playoffs. Tracy plays mediocre all season long but elevates his game in the playoffs.

Kobe still wins out because he's a better shooter, he plays better defense, he puts the opposition in foul trouble by driving to the rim, and he is clutch.

According to the logic of most of these posts Robert Horry is a top 5 player of all time.

Well T-mac said that Kobe was better than him because of the rings.

When the talents are that close together sometimes rings can be the deciding factor even though it is not for me.

Kobe and Robert Horry talents are no where near each other.

    T-Mac in ORLANDOOOOOOO

If the Rockets were the Los Angeles Rockets, that would be true every time.
