No doubt I would take Kobe, we're WCF with Kobe and we're maybe 2nd round with Tmac. Kobe's all around game kills Tmac. Plus everyone forgets that Tmac needs to see the witch doctor to get well. Kobe is one of the strongest players in the league.

for some reason I think Yao would fill the stands a little better than Bynum.

Exactly, and you know if we are WCCs, then we are NBA WCs!

This is a business, if you better your team, you do it.

I do not know from experience, so before anyone wants to assert any witty comebacks at my expense, but I would imagine the following: Kobe Bryant is about 2 testicles short of being Tracy Mcgrady.

If Kobe comes to Houston I will be a Lakers fan (and I've always hated the Lakers).

not sure how one comes to that conclusion. if 2 testicles short means being someone you can count on to win games, i'd say kobe fits. i like mac. he's a great player. but he aint as good as kobe. and i don't like kobe.

i would do the trade in a heartbeat, t-mac for kobe. kobe on this talented team guarantees us a trip to the WCF. with t-mac we're 2nd round IF LUCKY (the t-mac curse). but if this deal happened the whole world of the NBA would turn upside down. it would probably be the most shocking trade in nba history. :D

Kobe is a stone cold sociopath and the best player in the league. TMac is one tweek of his back away from retirement. Hmmmmm.

Exactly. Any GM in the league would do this deal, if they could get Kobe for TMac. It would be classified as a Kobe firesale. You do the trade for the best player in the league, and then worry about how to make the chemistry work.

Count me in as someone who is against this deal.

Chemistry means too much and kobe is a team killer.

Tmac will get us to the promised land

Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen play for Boston -- anything is possible.

I've thought about this for a while now. Here is what I think:

    1. It's actually possible. With our current depth, we're easily one of the very few teams who can both put together a decent package for Kobe AND still be a desirable destination for Kobe after doing so. A package of T-Mac + one of our third tier stars like Francis, James or Bonzi might be about as good as you get for Kobe if he is truly demanding the trade. We could also throw in a draft pick or one of our promising young guys to help appease their fans.

    2. Killer instinct is a problem with our star tandem and Kobe has that in spades. Plus, Yao is so humble that he'd have no problem letting Kobe be the man on the Rockets. With that being the case, it's probably a much more desirable situation for Kobe than playing with Shaq. Kobe, in my mind, is the best player in the league. He's far better than T-Mac at this point and he's healthy to boot. It's very easy to understand why so many people consider this a no brainer. I could actually see this being the move that makes us UNSTOPPABLE.

    3. That said, I still can't get excited about it. In fact, I think I'd be incredibly disappointed if T-Mac was traded for Kobe. I genuinely like T-Mac and Kobe just isn't a very likable person. In fact, Kobe is quite possibly the biggest douche in the entire league. He's definitely in the top 10. The guy dubbed himself "Black Mamba" for cryin' out loud. That's almost as bad as the fact he just may be a rapist.

I'm really excited about this season and our current roster. I can't wait for the playoffs. I can't wait to see T-Mac and Yao break through to the second round (which T-mac won't have a shot in hell of doing in Los Angeles by the way. In fact, if T-Mac is traded to Los Angeles it's possible he never sees the second round in his entire career. That would be truly sad.). With Kobe.... Well, honestly, I can't imagine doing anything other than rooting against him in the playoffs. I know this is ridiculous, but acquiring Kobe Bryant may be the one thing the Rockets could do to turn me away - at least until he's no longer a Rocket. I just don't think I'll be able to root for the guy. Hell, I'd rather see Dirk Nowitski in a Rockets uniform and it hurt to even put "Dirk Nowitski" and "Rockets uniform" in the same sentence.

My heart would say no to this deal but my brain would say "no doubt!". I love TMac but Kobe is hands down the better player. Talent for talent is virtually equal but you just never know how TMac's back will be, whether it will keep him out of action all together or effect him to a point he is just not aggressive.

Kobe is a chucker but I wouldn't see it being an issue with Adelman's offensive system plus he would have a ton more trustworthy talent around him than in LA.

All that being said, it's never going to happen. TMac or Kobe, I'm ready to go to war with this team and like our chances either way.
