So you're saying Gil doesn't play the point? Whose their primary ballhandler then? I don't think they ever slid him over to SG.

McGrady might shift over to being primary ballhandler in short stretches (a.k.a crunch time) but the vast majority of the time he plays SG/SF. According to 82games McGrady didn't play point at all.

No kidding. I can't imagine LA trading him to a WC rival and I can't imagine the guy in a Rockets uniform. It makes me want to hurl just thinking about it.

    Where's a bucket!!!

The LABuss' er Lakers may or may not trade Kobe, but they will not give him away. Nor can they get equal value for the best player in the WORLD. I heard JJ ++ from Atlanta. Would he put some butts in seats in Hawksland? If so, why not give it up big time for KB? What would Isiah give to get him in NYC? Anything Mitch demanded. Paxson has the pieces but has no trigger finger. The Nets have good stuff to offer and in return they take over NY.

There will be major major offers. I'd take the guy and give a heckuva lot to do it. But here will not be Kobe's destination.

    Guess what

some people care about the CHARACTER of their players.

I dont care how good the guy is...I DONT WANT HIM ON MY TEAM.

There is not a sufficient talent gap between the two players to warrant the additional baggage and attitude that Bryant brings with him.

I like my players to be about the TEAM...Tmac wins that versus Bryant HANDS DOWN.

Here is why the Lakers won't do it.

T-Mac demanded(sort of) a trade out of the exact type of situation Kobe is in now. The Lakers are not gonna trade one disgruntled superstar for someone who will be. He will just end up opting out, maybe even sooner than Kobe could.

Honestly, I'm tired of getting my hopes up every single year. It is sad how the rockets cant even get out of the first round because of a certain somebody saying "It's on me", but doesn't even drive to the damn basket, instead, he insist on taking jumpers after jumpers. How you going to pass the first round with that kind of mentality. No killer instinct unless somebody pisses him off.

If tmac cant get us pass the first round this year, I will consider him a failure for all the talent that he posesses.

I agree Tmac is more of a team guy. But Kobe has gotten 3 rings with a dominant center, and if anything is a better player now than then. I see Bryant still be awesome in 5 years. Cannot say that about Tmac. Probably would have to add Luther and picks.

    Check this out

    Yao/Deke/Scola (matchup
    Scola/Hayes/Battier (matchup
    Shane/Bonzi
    Kobe/MJ, Bonzi, Steve
    Rafer/MJ/Steve

McGrady is a superstar, Bryant is a top 3 talent. Bryant can get to the hole anytime.

Kobe for Sure+Reed+Snyder+Novak+Lucas+Butler. And sign Harris back.

Solves our roster clutter problem in one stroke. Makes Most Clutchfans posters happy.

Let Kobe sit at the end of our bench instead of some promising young guy like Harris and Landry.

    Amen and Amen.

Kobe would be on par with Pippen in term of character. Having this kind of guys on MY TEAM makes me feel dirty.
