Yeah, he would be pissed to get Francis back but then lose T-mac.

Well I'm with you, for what it's worth (I know, not much). :D

True, but to me it's indicative of just how much L.A. wants to be rid of his ass.

    Let's see....

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

    and one more thing, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Kobe might have fewer health issues and be a better scorer/athlete, but he's also a tremendious cancer, ballhog, and (my own personal opinion) a tremendious piece of sh*t! I've always believed "what a difference a uniform makes (i.e. I wasn't a big fan of Charles Barkley until he came to our team - he was just misunderstood all those years!). However, I do not think I could ever root for Kobe and having him on my team of teams.....damn

i uno. I'd say if it's T-Mac for Kobe, then we would have a better shot at a title maybe ... ? Though I dont want it to happen because I'd prefer a title with T-Mac than a title with Kobe. Kobe and the Rockets just doesnt fit.

Maybe Kobe demand a trade to Rockets?

If the deal included Indy and ONeal (LAL) + Murph (HOU) as well as Battier (LAL) + Hayes (LAL) and Kwame (Indy) + Radman (Hou) + Odom (Indy) + fillers to balance THEN Lakes might get interested; everyone might be interested.

    Snap deal...as if.

I love Tracy and think he's great and believe the Rockets are legitmate contenders for the championship with him at the helm. HOWEVER, anyone who would NOT trade Tracy for Kobe is just fooling themselves. Kobe has a lot of problems, but at the end of the day he is the best player in the NBA right now. If it was a straight up trade of Tracy for Kobe I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd be willing to throw in one other promising player too...like Luther, but anything more than that and it would give me pause. But anyone who says that would be a horrible trade and they wouldn't want Kobe on their team is just being irrational. If we had Kobe, we would instantly be the favorites to win it all this year.

Stephen A Smith is an idiot. I highly doubt he has any real insight into this situation.

I doubt they want TMac and his back. If they did, I'd do it (though I love TMac and loathe Kobe)

Still, Stephen A said it so it might as well have been our office mailroom rockets-fan employee

    And next year...

    And the year after that...

Now, I understand those saying it won't happen, it does seem kind of strange. But those saying "I wouldn't do it"... that's even more strange.

TMac is cool and all... But Kobe Bryant? Really?

You absolutely make this trade if it all possible. Kobe has killer instinct and leaves it all on the floor. He loves basketball. He is a hard worker and a leader.

Ugh. This thing gets brought up every week. If Stephen A. was a credible source this thing would be making waves. Right now this story has no legs.

And to restate my stance for the tenth time, just say NO to Kobe.

Absolutely, but - what will Lakes really DEMAND in return? Three 1s, expiring contracts, contract dumps + a stud? A real rape job (sic).

ANY team with Kobe becomes a candidate to win it all, even the Lakes.

    Get it done!

Why would the Rockets do it? Because it's Kobe...end of discussion.

Why would the Lakers do it? Right now the team is in disarray and it's very hard to market a team when everyone knows that Kobe will eventually get traded. McGrady's back is a concern but you almost get the same value back as far as star value is concern. Lakers can still market a team led by TMac and not lose much as far merchandising etc. Right now he's the only superstar they can get (assuming that the Rockets are really interested in this deal) cause nobody else is willing to trade their top players.

Has cbfanclub weighed in on this?

We had damn good karma during the Champ years... and it looks like we've got good karma this year with Steve back and Scola on board. I'm thinking if the Rockets take on Kobe it ruins our karma and we'd be destined to fall just short.

I want to hear from the leader of the Chucky Brown Fan Club on this vital issue and learn if my suspicions are correct.

houston would do it if the lakers were willing. case closed.

that does not guarantee a championship but they will do it. the business side would go up.

tracy might be against it, but to play in LA, be on national TV, it's hard to say no in that sense.

but kobe has never said he wanted houston so i don't know where smith gets his source.
