We would definitely have to give up other good players to make this team.

They would probably ask for Mac, Battier, and Head for Kobe and garbage.

I don't know if we could gut our SF position like that.

Speaking of Lakers only half-heartedly here, but I saw Fisher playing last night for them. I thought he walked away from the Jazz so he could focus on his daughters illness?

He reportedly went back to LA because they have better hospitals.

If anything took place, it's probably something like this:

Morey: Hey, it's Daryl Morey from Houston, I'm just checking to see if there's a chance Kobe's available.

Kupchak (or whoever takes the call): How about Yao Ming?

Morey: We like Tracy a lot, but he's available.

    Kupchak: [Hangs up the phone].

    Morey: Hello? Hello?

I hope that T-Mac hears all of this and steps his game up even more. Kobe is a cancer and until he proves otherwise, he will always remain "the guy who gave up playing with Shaq," selfish and egocentric. I don't care if Kobe drops 82 on us in the first game as long as we win. That is what everyone here wants right?

I thought he would always be known as "the guy who won three championships and is the best player in the NBA".

If they're going to trade Kobe, that means they're starting over. You don't start over with T-Mac, Battier, and Head.

Even though I abhor Screamin A......

We would go off even with SA to win it all if this happened.

Assuming credibility the question becomes how much would we have to ship LA along with Tracy to get it done?Defintely more than Steve. It almost asssuredly would involve multiple players on both sides.

I'll always remember the rapist Kobe Bryant for other indiscretions.

kobe is better then tmac but it would be messed up to trade tmac to a ****ty team. From championship contenders to Lottery prone for years.

So what are they going to trade for? Rookies so they can start over?

Buss said he would trade for equal talent. T-Mac, and other solid players would be what they would want from us. They sure as sh*t don't care about Carl Landry and Steve Novak.

I'm confused as to your response. If you don't "start over" with three relatively young, solid players, what do you start over with?

    I don't like Kobe...that being said...

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    These are all rumors.
I see Kobe staying in L.A. for full season, maybe half of it and in the end traded to some Eastern C. team, probably Chicago.
Buss is probably afraid to trade Kobe because L.A. without Kobe is like Wolwes team and he is afraid of it,and waits to see season starting and to see can Kobe make them a playoff team.
If no,he will be traded just like A.I. on half of the season.
    In Houston?!Rather NO!
I respect Kobe, but we don't need no another ballhog.

    noooooooooooooooooooooooooo....please God nooooooooooooooooooo.

Why do people act like Kobe is a superior player to T-Mac??? T-Mac can do and has done everything that Kobe has with the exception of the titles which Shaq was the catalyst for. As good as Yao is, he has not been to Shaq's level (during the title years). Kobe has never been out of the first round without Shaq either!

T-Mac's a better passer, team player, can score as well, maybe doesn't shoot as well (% wise), equal rebounder. I'll give Kobe his "killer instinct" but that is also his flaw in that none of his teammates like him and is what got him into this situation.

This team is going far this year, don't mess it up by bringing in a cancer! Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssse do not!!!

    Kobe is better than Mcgrady.

We've always seemed like we were just one or two moves away from being a great team. I feel we have made those moves as of now. It worries me that Morey would consider this. It has a chance to be a great move and we win a bazillion championships with Kobe.

This team was not crafted for Yao and Kobe though, it was crafted for Yao and T-mac.

I know there is almost no way it happens but it makes me kind of nervous to think about it.

Having Kobe would be awesome but I want to see Mcgrady succeed here. It would bug me to see him in a Laker uni.
