just a thought but if the lakers want yao for kobe, think what our starting 5 would be like? rafer, kobe, mcgrady, shane, scola playing center haha we would be easily the quickest team in the league....just a thought but i wouldnt do it i love yao

if that's the team, we'd be the suns but w/ the 2 best offensive players in the game on both sides of the court. i think that's just basically impossible. you don't need a post game when u can do that.

but let's stick w/ this team.

Wow. He really did make it sound like we're the team who can land Kobe. I didn't realize he has a no trade clause in his contract. That definitely increases our chances if Morey wants him.

God I hope this doesn't happen. I really can't stand Kobe.

    Thanks for posting that, Sooner423.

Screamin' A was asked what the latest with Kobe was... I got the vibe that he was just repeating rumors he's read, but here is the exact quote:

<UL>"Well the bottom line is you've got the Houston Rockets contemplating moving Tracy McGrady for him. Obviously they would do that deal in a heartbeat. I don't think the Lakers want to do that because Tracy McGrady's history of back problems not to mention the fact that he's not box office the way Kobe is."</UL>

Remember a few years back when everyone used to debate who was better, T-Mac or Kobe?

    Yeah those were the days...

Well, maybe they can do it depending on how the year goes? Maybe Kobe gets super pissed or maybe the Rockets start out slow. Who knows....whatever is best for the team.

I wonder if the news spread to T-Mac..

I really hope during one of his next interviews, someone asks him to voice his thoughts on the "rumors" of being traded for Kobe.

Count me in for getting Kobe in. As long as it's not to trade Yao!

Kobe and Yao will give Kobe at least another 3 rings. Gives him a chance to catch MJ. Yao will get the rings with Kobe of course and be instrumental.

Kobe will not need to share the limelight with Yao. This move will leave a bad taste in the mouth of Rocket fans but we won't mind the victory parades.

Kobe can have the cake and eat it too with Yao. Have the inside presence who will not fight him but will make it really impossible to double him. And hit the FT. (Yes, disrespect for Shaq).

If it's TMac and fillers that is. It's too much if any other starting 5 other than Rafer is part of the deal. And no way Scola gets traded also.

Yao, Scola, Battier, Kobe, MJames. With Bonzi, France Head Hayes off the bench. WOW, how many championships can you imagine.

P.S. I can't stand Kobe either but the NBA is a business and we need a few championships here!

1995 is a long time ago. Time to be great again. Texans are sliding into stinky land again and Astros are going to be bad for a while.

With TMAC, the Rockets might go all the way. With Kobe, they will go all the way. They will be as scary as those LA or Celtic teams of the past. You know the ones. You just know the finals are going to be Celtics vs. Lakers because Bird and Magic makes it so.

With Kobe and Yao, it will be the same. And who knows, with KG, Allen and that 3rd guy with the Celtics, they may be the best (at least for a year or so) if their big 3 don't get hurt. So it could be Celtic vs Houston. That would be a good championship series. Don't you think?

tmac - go ahead, if the team does not want me, i don't want to play for a team that does not want me.

let's be real, if tmac catches news of this, he's gonna feel betrayed b/c he worked his arse off to get into shape for this year and put hard work coming back from the back injury. if they want to trade him, he's gonna feel betrayed b/c he loves houston, but he's not gonna stay on a team where they don't have full confidence in him.

it's like the lakers. when they know kobe does not want to be here, it doesn't matter how good he is, he's gone.

can u believe if this tmac-kobe trade goes down b4 the first game, and both face their old teams RIGHT AWAY.

    that'd be awkward

I've read this whole thread, and I see a lot of people saying they would do this deal in a heartbeat. But I want to ask yall a question would yall do this deal if T-Mac didnt have a bad back? Because I know I wouldnt. To me when Tracy Mcgrady is healthy he is a better player than Kobe. And I think this year is the year that Mcgrady will be back on the top of his game and be the best player in the NBA. I say that becasue his back is 100% healthy.
