"Poor baby. Poor cheating, alleged-rapist baby." In other news: AQUAFINA sues Bryants' for "unfortunate" product placement.
If this was a civil lawsut and the woman was seeking monetary damages, then I could see a settlement of that type. With it being a criminal matter and the District Attorney pursuing this for the People of the State of Colorado, wouldn't an offer of money to the woman be in the area of witness tampering?
Hey, imagine this. If Kobe gets convicted and that costs Lakers a ring this year, how will Gary and Karla feel? I mean each of them forfeited 10 million dollars in order to get a ring with Lakers.
That press conference was the most awkward and uncomfortable thing I've ever seen. And all I kept thinking was, damn...Mrs. Bryant is fine.
Bruises on the body, blood under the fingernails as was said before, cuts/scrapes, signs of forced penetration, or witness reports of screaming/other suspicious noise coming from Kobe's room that night.
Didn't the legal analysts on ESPN say that there was "slim to zero chance he plea bargains, and slim flew out the window" ?
Yeah but what if they consensually played S/M? Or on the opposite, what if the raper pointed a gun at the victims head? That the victim was so terrified that she didn't struggle physicaly? No bruises. No blood and cuts and all. How does the DA build the case?
She is hot.
How do you know that? Kobe had stated, "You guys know me, I would never do something like that." Well, we don't really know him. He does have a very well crafted and clean cut image, but as we know now, it's too good to be true. From what we thought we knew of him and the fact that he portrayed himself as a model citizen who, a)doesn't join his teammates in going out to strip clubs, b)has a strong unwavering devotion to his wife (and chose her over his parents or something of that sort), and c)not too long ago was seen in ads shopping for diapers and in games wearing his daughter's birth band, we wouldn't think that he would be guilty of adultery either. I too thought everything was as Kobe called "bogus" and that there was no way he could even be guilty of adultery. The fact remains that we don't really know Kobe at all, and anything is possible. Yes, Kobe does have a squeaky clean reputation, but from what I understand, so does the alleged victim, being an honor student and also being well respected in the community. ONLY them two know what actually went on that night.
After looking at Colorado Statutes Title 18 Criminal Code, any attempt to pay hush money would create even more legal problems for Kobe. 18-8-703. George A. Spencer turned down a deal yesterday. He could have pleaded guilty to offering a rape victim five-thousand dollars in return for the woman agreeing NOT to testify against former union member Jerome Williams. Had he taken the deal, Spencer would have been sent to prison for one year. But Circuit Judge Michael Weatherby has set an August 25th trial date. Conviction could bring up to five years in prison. Williams was sentenced last year to life in prison for rape and armed kidnapping. The local and the union are also defendants in a class action lawsuit filed by female dockworkers. They claim gender discrimination and harassment. UNION CORRUPTION UPDATE As George Spencer campaigns for the presidency of Intl. Longshoremen Assn. Local 1408, he also awaits trial for witness tampering to shield a union member from rape charges. He is currently the financial officer and secy. of the Local, which the FBI was investigating for possible labor law violations last year. As FBI agents monitored conversations in the union hall, they recorded Spencer offering $5,000 to persuade a woman raped by local member Jerome Williams not to testify at his trial. But reportedly, Spencer offered the bribe to a local undercover officer posing as the woman's girlfriend. And FBI agents turned their tapes over to state prosecutors, who arrested Spencer in Jan. for felony witness-tampering. Williams was convicted of rape and armed kidnapping last May. Circuit Judge Michael Weatherby labeled him a sexual predator, and sentenced him to life in prison. Spencer is still running for Local president, with the election scheduled for Dec. 16., two weeks after he appears in court. It is not clear whether the union's bylaws would bar Spencer from the ofc. if he is convicted. Elected officers must not have been convicted of any one of 12 crimes, incl. murder, rape and extortion. But witness-tampering isn't named. The union itself is also facing a class-action lawsuit by two women alleging sexual discrimination and harassment by George and his brother, Charles, the current p[resident. What a pair! One cheats on his wife, and the other cheats on the whole country! At least Kobe is man enough to admit the cheating, the other one keeps giving us Bu****!
Saw that news conference and just from reading Mrs. Bryant's body language, Kobe is guilty as hell. He did it. Case close. Mrs. Bryant was just icy and stone cold. Women who really feel that their husbands are innocent don't do what Mrs. Bryant did. Mrs. Bryant looked like Hillary part deux right after the Monica scandal broke. Remember how cold Hillary was in defending Slick Willie? Kobe's wife was even colder. That news conference looked like a funeral! Maybe it was one, for Kobe's image and endorsement contracts.
I seriously doubt this girl is doing this for attention. As far as I know her name/face has not be relased to the public. This will be interesting to see how this will be played out, if he did it he should do the time. But I doubt it will come to that whether hes guilty or not, this will be settled with money as some already suggested.
I felt the same way. Kobe didn't look convicing at all. My guess would be he did it. Mrs. Bryant's act is so fake. I think what she cares now is how to keep the money coming in rather than their mariage.
