I want Kobe Bryant's publicity people. He's managed to portray such a squeeky clean image to the press that there are a bunch of people falling over themselves to defend him - when they really have no idea of what happened, or even what kind of person Bryant is.
That's good news! Speaking of news, now they're reporting they found some drugs in his room, I don't know if anyone has posted this, I haven't gone through all of the thread. I think an NBA championship is the least of their problems.
The demographic is fairly judged within my posts. The post about early 20s was pretty funny, but it isn't true. While men in their early 20s could be volatile, it is nowhere near where women are. The only difference is men can use it physically (while women are emotionally driven bastards) and unless Kobe has been the best actor ever (he CRIED when he lost in the playoffs, I find it very hard to believe that big of a p***y would rape someone) for 7 years he is not the type to do something like this. Consensual, essay boy. That'll be the key right there though, proving if it was consensual or not. It most likely was consensual, and eventhough another incredibly witty post came up about the ripped clothes/messed up fingernails "evidence", it's extremely easy to fabricate. I don't like the Lakers and specifically Kobe Bryant, but he wouldn't do something like this. No one can act that well.
Famous people are not above the law, even if they think they are with all the fame and money they have. And to all those people calling this poor girl a gold digger, etc make me sick. I bet you'd be singing a different tune if it was your sister or daughter kobe raped.
Excellent point. I honestly believe that image plays a much larger role in these things than we admit. For example, I think that Mike Tyson was convicted largely because he's the type of person we could all see doing the crime...and may very well have at other points in his life. But a review of the physical evidence, conflicting/dishonest testimony of witnesses, especially the victim, etc. would strongly suggest that he should have been acquitted in that particular case...Whereas W. Kennedy Smith, with a much cleaner 'image' got off despite facing a steeper mountain of evidence...It wouldn't be completely off the wall to suggest that race may have played a relative role in the outcomes of these cases as weel.
KOBE'S STATEMENT (CNN) -- This is the text of a statement released on behalf of Kobe Bryant through his attorneys, Harold Haddon and Pamela Robillard Mackey, and his agent Rob Pelinka: "I am innocent of the charges filed today. I did not assault the woman who is accusing me. "I made the mistake of adultery. I have to answer to my wife and my God for my actions that night and I pray that both will forgive me. "Nothing that happened June 30th was against the will of the woman who now falsely accuses me. "These false allegations have hurt my family. I will fight against these allegations with all my strength. My wife is the strongest person I know. She is willing to stand by me despite my mistake. That means everything to me. "I have so much to live for. And by that I do not mean the contracts, or the money, or the fame. I mean my family. I will fight for them. "I appreciate all those who have supported me. Thank you for believing in me. My family and I are going to need your support and prayers now more than ever." BOLOGNA. I DON'T SUPPORT HIM. Vanessa Bryant's statement: "I know that my husband has made a mistake -- the mistake of adultery. He and I will have to deal with that within our marriage, and we will do so. He is not a criminal. I know that he did not commit a crime, he did not assault anyone. He is a loving and kind husband and father. I believe in his innocence. Because I know him to be innocent, I will stand by him and we will face this together. I will give him all the strength and support he needs to face these false accusations. I will not let him face these accusations alone. I know Kobe better than anyone. The great person you see on the court and in the public is a far greater person off the court." BOLOGNA - PART 2. Yeap, as Jon here at the office said, he IS a loving husband and father... he loves EVERYBODY...!
Holy Shiznit! Subjective...objective. Opinion...fact. Supposition...conclusion. Out of your mind...out of your a$$.
ROTFLMAO. In unrelated news if Mrs. Achebe becomes a member, I'm in a large amount of trouble. Back on topic, Puedlfor, I don't know much about Kobe's personal demeanor... but do you think that he'd have to force himself on a 19 year old woman? Sorry if that is tactless... but when I look at him, "rapist" doesn't jump in my mind.
i find the privacy issue in this case very interesting, ie revealing the name of the accused and not the accuser, especially when one of them is a celebrity...both of their reputations will be dragged through the mud..
Maybe she's an O'Neal fan, and thinks Bryant is an overrated ass who's taking away shots from The Daddy. When you looked at OJ Simpson, did you see "wife-beater" and "double murderer"? Or the humorous Sgt. Hertz from "Naked Gun"?
