Kobe tells Bynum, "You just need to develop Hakeem's help defense, post moves, and passing, Mutombo's man post defense, Ralph Sampson's ability to run the floor, Moses Malone's rebounding and durability, and Elvin Hayes's jumpshot. That, or I want to play with Yao."
Oh man. That is so great. Maloney is just standing there like he's afraid to get anywhere near jordan (his man?) on that play. The behind the real scene background is so great i would buy a full size poster of that one
That's funny, cause once Bynum does all that he'll be telling the Lakers organization "Give me a max contract". I will laugh when that happens and they lose him because they won't sign him for max.
That's pretty cool. You don't usually hear Hakeem's d get props, even though he was one of the best of all time. Usually it's all about the shake or his dominating offensive performances in the title years.
No actually that IS dream blocking MJ on a drive to the basket during a game in 97' while Barkley was out. It was a great game and thorough whooping by the Rockets during the great 72-10 bulls season.
"If I can't watch tapes, I can't watch tapes. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about tapes. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about tapes. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about watching tapes, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about a tape. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about watching tapes man. How silly is that? Now I know that I'm supposed to lead by example and all that but I'm not shoving that aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about tapes. We're talking about tapes man. We're talking about tapes. We're talking about watching tapes. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about tapes. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about tapes right now." Sincerely, Andrew Bynum, 2009
Who remembers when Sam Mack took the most legit, textbook charge in the history of charges from MJ and they called a foul on Mack? MJ has his hand on Mack's face! Someone find that pic. Priceless...
The Bulls actually went 72-10 in 95-96, the year before Barkley was traded to the Rockets. We lost both games to Chicago that year.
honestly thought Maloney has had a great life, at least on paper ... he went to an Ivy League school, started in the NBA with 3 NBA greats, played in several high profile playoff games, made a ton of money, then got out because his body deteriorated and spent time on his other passion (music) ... plus he was good looking and a real cool guy ... personally I can't hate on this guy even though it was funny to have such a one-tool guy leading us at the point...
Bynum should watch the Lakers vs Rockets in the 80s and how AKEEM "I dunk on them" the Dream played. Also how he was about to beat down Mitch Kupchak!
