Never really had a problem about the voting process in the past; not sure if they should really do anything now? Though I will say, injuries thing should stand. Of course we know about Yao, Kobe last year, should someone like Durant be on the ballot this year? Thunder are about to play their 30th game today; Durant will have played in 9 of them. I think they like having fans have a vote but if they were to change it, Coaches vote? Players vote? Both?
The more interesting thing is who gets left off the list for guards in the west because of Kobe making the team. I'm going to think the coaches will pull from winning teams. Harden/Lillard/Thompson. I'm guessing at this rate that Chris Paul will be left out or some other big name based on which teams are top 4 in the conference or not. Could even be Harden if going into All-star game the Rockets are in 7th place or something.
Kobe will start at the all star break as long as he wants to play in it. Just like when Jordan came back to the nba. He deserves it.
Lebron 552,967 Curry 549,095 AD 524,623 Kobe 521,542 Harden 336,998+2 = 336,400 Blake 307,908 Wall 299,209 DWade 265,917 Melo 265,170 Pau 247,953 Kyrie 237,356 Marc 227,554 Bosh 208,549 * Making progress.
Harden wont be left off the team unless he's injured. At NBA.com in the comments section NBAER says Thompson should be starting and Harden should be his backup....
Maybe it would be good for Harden to be left off so he can rest during the break, and then play with a giant chip the second half of the season.
This is actually an opposite situation. Vince Carter got the nod to start over Jordan from the fan votes and came under a lot of scrutiny for not giving up his spot for MJ. In a last minute decision he did give up his spot for Jordan. I'm 99% sure that's what happened if my memory is right, but that was a long time ago (dang, I was a freshman in high school!) so I could be wrong.
Let me know when Marc Gasol gets voted in as a starter. the fans always get it wrong; this year is no different
Howard was getting more votes then lebron and Kobe at one point, damn his popularity dropped off so hard
West players need to freeze Kobe out and never pass him the ball. East players need to attack Kobe at every opportunity and shoot/dunk in his face.
We are already forever in debt to them economically. Harden not being an All-Star is no reason to kiss there a$$es.
