No this is not what he said. Stupid twitter post. He said top 5 players he played against... There is an article on ESPN.
He's probably better than Klay but it's a bit early to say that definitively. Klay may not be an elite defender but Richmond was one of the worst defensive guards in the league, despite his offensive heroics.
You must have a wealth of NBA experience to question our questioning of Kobe's list Nobody is giving Kobe that much grief, they only questioned whether Clyde was truly his "peer"
MJ is a whole 'nother level better than Kobe. He was much more solid defensively and he was damn near unstoppable offensively even before he developed a 3 point shot. Kobe vacillated from passable to terrible defensively and he had Shaq Diesel to attract attention for nearly a decade. Don't get me wrong, Kobe is going to go down as one of the best of all time and the 2nd best SG of all time. But he's no MJ and even though I'd take Kobe over Dwyane Wade, both Wade and MJ have had much more dominant individual seasons (MJ I won't reference as you can basically pick any season from the mid 80's-90's, Wade 06-07, 08-10). Kobe is better than Wade but closer to Wade in terms of impact than MJ.
And again, to clarify, my statement is more about how ridiculously dominant MJ was rather than to knock Kobe down a peg.
Clyde attacked the basket , he's more like harden. Except drexler was more athletic. Josh smith like.
I like that some of you feel the need to speak for Kobe. I would also like to know what he means when he talk about his favorite restaurants.
weird way of thinking. I suppose from a similar play style standpoint, but not GOAT. If there was no MJ, people would still be discussing Magic vs Bird. MJ unseated them, and indeed beat Magic in one Finals, which could have been Magic's 6th. Also, Drexler likely wins 2 with Portland with the depth of that team and no MJ to face in the Finals. Do you really think Kobe is better than Magic and Bird?
