Kobe tends to throw up those bad shots himself when the clock is deep. LeBron likes to pass to his 3pt specialists for those shots when the clock's deep. That's the major difference.
If anyone thought Kobe looked bad last night I would like to know what your definition for looking bad is. Sure he wasn't the Kobe in his prime but for the last few years Kobe has taken a lot of jumpshots. He was far from bad last night.
You can see how how the drop in athleticism affecting his physical game, while his mental game (volume chucker @40%) is still the same. The Lakers played a lot better when he was off the floor.
We had a double team running at Kobe's midrange the whole game, we gave him too much respect, thus giving him breathers with easy reads(over our short guards) leading to weak side b-b-breakdown. That's also why they had so many offensive boards. That and a super lengthy front court. Edit: **** the Lakers anyway.
Yes but he wasn't bad. He also had 7 assist . He wasn't shooting great but he got his guys involved. Kobe shooting around 40% while getting 5+ assist isn't a bad thing. Could have had some more if Gasol didn't go cold for a stretch.
Thanks for pointing out to me the major difference between Kobe Bryant and a different player that nobody else in this thread is even talking about. Your obsession with Lebron is getting unhealthy.
Kobe's passing really impressed me last night. Not so much his ability to make good passes, but the willingness. We'll see if that lasts.
Kobe nutriders will resort to subtle deflection to try to justify his 40% volume chucking. Otherwise they'd have to face the reality that he's a taller, slower Allen Iverson.
Every now and then he has those type of games. Late in the game he went down to Pau on the block. I was shocked because I was expecting him to take a contested jumper.
My girl could've spotted the openings, maybe even delivered them But it will last until Kobe can no longer get to the spots he does on the floor, at the time he still does, consistantly. He ball hogs when he is off just to prove he can shoot and/or drive and beat you to the cup. When he is rolling, he becomes a more willing passer, to show you he can pass. Thoughts on thread b4 I leave it: Kobe will remain Kobe until his mind realizes that time waits for no man(ala Jordan, every living being). Once he shows that fear/doubt/decline on the court is when the other lions come in and kill his cubs. God I hope that's soon, and I love Kobe's game. Edit: Again **** the lakers. They gave Jeanie Buss sp? airtime for her book during a Rockets possession, I literally turned my TV off during most of her promo.
Of course he does. This only shows how great he is, after shooting 25% in the preseason, he comes out and scores 27 points. But I was reffering to people that said kobe looked 'GREAT'. He actually didn't.
I don't see that much similarity with Kobe and AI. However, LeBron is a bigger AI with one more MVP. Though AI didn't choke in his final appearance.
in the pre-season, except for one game, his jump shooting was terrible and i'm talking 10-15% terrible, his aim was on last night, so his injuries were essentially meaningless.
Everybody knows those last second heaves aren't really a good indication of how a player shoots. Kobe had to shoot 2 last second shots against the clock. Heck, I'm not going to count Brooks last second missed layup against him. He was most likely going to miss it. Every Rocket fan new he was probably going to miss and was hoping for a miracle. All of these last second shots on the shot clock and game clock are "miracle shots" and since miracles are rare, they're very low percentage shots. I don't count those against a player.
That's cool. I just noticed it from the game yesterday. I don't really count those 2 against him. Just like I noticed that miss by Brooks at the end of the game, I don't count count that against him either. It's an impossible shot but somebody had to take it. Doesn't make them less of a player to miss a miracle shot.
