I'd EASILY take Hakeem over Kobe, both in his peak and to build a franchise. But in terms of pure resume, they're rather close, Kobe unfortunately having those D teams, 3 more championships (potentially more), while likely going to finish in the top 5 in NBA scoring history. 20-30 years down the road when no one has seen either of them, I'd be inclined to agree that some might take Kobe over Hakeem..

what the people don't understand, some of the new fans, is that Hakeem/Akeem was synonymous with the city of Houston before he was a Rocket. He helped the Houston Cougars become national phenoms.

Then the Rockets picked him to stay in Houston and Houston never had a championship team.

Hakeem made Houston sports fans proud to be Houston sports fans.

The story of Hakeem going from Africa to Houston and helping the Rockets do what none of the NFL, MLB teams could ever do is a special story.

It's in our hearts and hint hint, it's the reason why this place is called CLUTCH FANS.

Who built Clutch City? Dream did.
