Kobe: It's not a challenge for me to score 38 points, you know?

How many games did Kobe sit out vs. this season vs how many did KD did?

Dang. Many people are quick to defend one of the NBA's biggest douchebags. But it's really not a big deal.

I just like how the ESPN article is titled that Kobe "allows Durant to win scoring title". It's like a bad Chuck Norris joke.

    Yeah.
Even I could score 38 points in the NBA if they let me shoot all the shots in the game. No, the team wouldn't win the game (they'd lose by a 100 because of the high pace to get me enough shots), but who cares! I could!

Kobe hasn't scored easily for the majority of this season (see his fg%). Yeah he can easily get 38, but on how many shots?

I like this year's Kobe, who no longer gives an inkling of a sh-t about PR, unlike his former self. It's refreshing and as a result he gives the best interviews now.

Ofcourse he could. I could score 38 points if I take enough shots. That is the entire problem people have with Bryant:
Bryant 27.9 PPG with 23.0 shots
Durant 28.0 PPG with 19.7 shots

    Durant is the better scorer.

Bottom line: he isn't "giving" Durant anything. Durant came from behind and snatched that **** from his cold dead hands.

He wants the scoring title and it's silly for him to say it's not important. As much as he shot the tread off the ball this year instead of feeding his two all-star 7 footers....f'in disingenuous dude right there.

I would've had more respect for him if he told the truth and said yea he wanted the scoring title, but he conceded that even if he played he might still not get it. Plus he needs to rest for the Denver series. He knew better, which I respect......but then turns around and acts like a scoring title ain't **** all of a sudden, when he's been gunning his a$$ off all season at a crap percentage trying to prove something.

Him being all of a sudden blase' about getting another scoring title, as if his attitude towards accolades has EVER been nonchalant, is borderline insulting. This is the same dude that shot the Lakers out of an NBA finals in 2004, going for a finals MVP over another ring as a subservient. He sabotaged a finals so he wouldn't be seen as a 4X robin for his first 4 rings, and we're supposed to believe he didn't want another scoring title--even though he shot his team into oblivion several times this season seeming to chase it. HA!

Even if Kobe had scored 38 tonight, it would've been a joke if he won the scoring title this year.

    Let's compare stats:
    49.6% FG vs. 43.0%
    86.0% FT vs. 84.5%

The right guy won the scoring title.

I still stand by my opinion that he wanted the scoring title. Coach benched him to save him for the play-offs. Kobe's remark shows that he's butthurt about it. Yeah, of course he knows the play-offs are more important than a regular season scoring title but if it was up to him, he prolly wouldve tried for both.

Just like PJ sitting kobe when he scored 81. He could have gotten close to 100 and he would have kept trying if he wasnt benched. Thats wat makes him great.
The dismissive Lebron attitude is not Kobe. You know he's hurting inside about not having the chance to get possibly his last scoring title.

Another thing is, that if he tries to score 38 points to win the titel he is not trying to win the game. he is trying to win the scoring titel.

He score 38 or more in only 7 games. So yes he can do it, but it is not normal for him to do so.

He can score 38 pts, but it would be like 10/40 FG with some 3 pointers, with 20/23 FT. I think he has mature that winning championships is more important than stats. I hate Kobe, but liked that he didn't chase a record he could of gotten easily, but making a mockery of the NBA.
