He's not just more well-rounded, he's also better in every category than Kobe (pts, FG%, rebs, blocks, assists, dance moves, etc).
Well if you want to talk about what John Hollinger loves to talk about, sure. But there is much more to the game than stats. I'm not saying LeBron isn't better, but please provide more of an argument than a bunch of stats.
Stop taking things away from Kobe....unless those things are called Smush Parker and Kwame Brown
Kobe is better at being paired with Shaquille O'Neal, Pau Gasol and Phil Jackson. This we can all visibly see.
Lebron is a Forward averaging over 7 assists per game while also almost scoring 30 points per game.. and he has better shooting %.. Kobe averages almost as many turnovers as he does assits.
The numbers will generally favor LeBron because his team just depends on him a lot more. But he's also younger and a great athlete, so he's perhaps physically better equipped to take on that responsibility than any other player. Its hard to dispute that he just does a lot more things on the floor. But if you switch out Kobe with LeBron on the Lakers, do they win more games last year? Do they win a championship? That's debatable.
OK, how about this: LBJ+trash=NBA Finals Kobe+Lamar Odom= 1st round exit. That nonstats enough for you?
Totally agree that James is way overhyped. Kobe is the best player this decade by far. I'd say Duncan is maybe second. I don't know where to put James but not next.
you guys compare statistics without understanding how to evaluate statistics what player in phil jackson's triangle offense has averaged over 7+ assists? none...(jordan averaged 8+ before phil even) the offense produces statistics, a equal opportunity triangle is going to cut out anyones assists even if lebron comes to the lakers, just a fact, just like it would be inflated if he went to the knicks under dantoni cavs run their game around lebron, he has the most possessions per game in the nba by a large margin, thus 'better' statistics and also lebron is surrounded by shooters who spread the court for him and remove double teams which allow him to do what he does best, drive and draw fouls or kick it out, these guys are role players with good shots and defense this is the same system that surrounded allen iverson in 01... casuals can call it 'scrubs', but people who understand basketball is a cohesive game, and putting 5 stars together doesn't mean jack understand they are putting players around him that allow lebron to maximize his talents, so illaguskus takes out the middle men for lebron and can shoot out which clears the big men out of the paint to guard him, h so although kobe has a better talented cast, if you surround that same more talented cast around lebron, the two bigs could possibly(especially bynum) clog the paint for him, odom's shaky 3 won't be as effective in spreading the court for lebron as mo williams so its not all in paper...
Please don't bring up "all stars" into the argument. Big Z wasjust as much of an all star than as Iverson is now. These are 2 "legit" superstars that can lift there teams to championship levels, except one can do it with scrubs and the other does it with diamonds that can't even get past the Celtics when they're heavily favored and have home court advantage... Anything else?
Lebron is the one and only King. That's his nickname. You can't take away his and give it to the rapist. Lebron is not just a scoring machine. Look @ his stats, he gets like 30 10 10
To say kobe is better than lbj is an insult to basketball god. how can you compare a sidekick to shaq most of his career to someone that carries the whole team on his shoulders.
Why do Kobe fans have to make a new thread on this every week? And why the need to put down LBJ to make Kobe seem better? Just accept they are both great players and it's subjective on who's better. Whatever LBJ does on the court does not take away from what Kobe has accomplished and vice versa. I'm all for open debate, but making this a weekly event is just dumb. Not to mention the OP's post looks like it was written by a 12 year old, and poorly at that even by 12 year old standards.
Even when kobe was the only guy on the lakers he still didn't put up lbj numbers. The only guys in the history of the NBA to put a per in the range of lbj are wilt and MJ. I think if lbj had someone a little better than mo Williams and a little worse than pau he could win it. The cavs are just a mess. They don't have a ton of talent, but a lot of payroll. If they hadn't screwed up or been screwed by boozer then they would be so much better off.
I've seen Kobe & Lebron play live and they're both worth ticket price. Lebron is the future, plus he gets along with his teammates & shows how much he enjoys the game with the pre game dunk show. The lebron ticket is the better deal
