Sure, Kobe has the better shot. But I don't see how he can guard LeBron. Unless Kobe flops, LeBron would abuse him posting up all day.
You better check this first, if LeBron can't beat a stick in the post, he can't do nothing against Kobe. http://www.nba.com/heat/video/2010/09/30/DrillsDay3JamesandWade-1428360/index.ht ml
I'm sorry but I'd rather take the hundreds of LeBron games I've seen as better evidence that he is able to use his physical strength to score on people.
Kobe used a post up, turn around jumper to beat LeBron and Cavs in a clutch shot. When was last time LeBron had a post move against Kobe?
Lebron is a basketball freak. Kobe is a basketball genius. Going to ten by ones....I'm taking Kobe...final score 6-10.
Thats the truth. Its funny how he didn't even hesitate or say it without any doubt in his face. Pure confidence
I never miss a chance to post these, "basketball freak" is right Spoiler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0kPZsp6Levs?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0kPZsp6Levs?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Spoiler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gbAvd35-CRs?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gbAvd35-CRs?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Spoiler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l2B_mhZkRHM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l2B_mhZkRHM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

It doesn't even matter if all they did was post each other up. Kobe's post game is still worlds better than Lebron's. The only way LeBron could hang with Kobe in a 1-on-1 contest is by trying to outmuscle him in a no-fouls situation.

why did i know everyone would agree that kobe would win because of his repertoire and jumper? holy crap people. lebron gets to the basket and finishes at the basket better than any player in the league, and that's with everybody on the other team trying to stop him. how exactly is that going to get worse in a 1-on-1 setting? nobody would fare well trying to stop lebron by themselves because he's just too overpowering if he gets even the slightest step. kobe would be relegated to taking far more jumpers than lebron if they played and that would be the difference. physical advantages become more important in one on one games because there is nobody else and no help around to mitigate them. kobe is actually closer to lebron in a team setting than 1-on-1 and he's not that close there, either.
James would totally take the post away from Bryant, leaving him with only perimeter shots. After that, Lebron James is quick and agile enough to bother him from the perimeter, not to mention that he is far more athletic than Bryant is. On the other side, Bryant doesn't have the strength to handle James. I also have to laugh at the guy using Jordan as evidence. Jordan's the same guy that took Kwame Brown number one overall just under a decade ago. The same guy that traded Rip Hamilton for Jerry Stackhouse just before joining the team and hurting his progression. I'd love for this match-up to take place and have little doubt that James would clean him up.
So he also saying he could beat Magic Johnson in 1 on 1? If I heard correctly he said: "Lebron is like Magic, he is a great passer"
Melo would be a bad matchup for Kobe, but Kobe has too much determination pride to lose a 1v1. i actually think Paul Pierce could take Kobe in a 1v1 game believe it or not.
