And shove the a player twice and get a technical foul called on him.

Kobe is a punk and I hope Artest ****s him up next time.

This sums up my feelings on the game. Ron let his psychosis take over, and took himself out of the game.

That's too bad. I don't like Kobe, and I agree with the poster that said he would never want Kobe in a Rockets uniform. I don't care how good he is, I can't cheer for a guy like Kobe. I want a team that I can cheer for, and route for.

What you said is correct but don't give Mad Max all the credits for slowing down Jordan a little. He had a lot of help from that Nigerian fellow :).

Pretty much caused the loss right there. I was at the game and we couldn't have shot worse from the 3. All that bad shooting allowed them to hang around Yao all game long. Why go out to defend the 3 when they won't make them anyway!!

Oh, and Kobe was instigating all the beef as much as Ron.

As much as I dislike Kobe, he's right  . He dominated Artest in the 2nd half. I don't have a problem with Artest flapping his gums a little bit to try to get under Kobe's skin, but if he's gonna talk the talk, he's gotta walk the walk. Last night, he got dominated on both ends of the court. Kobe is just too good to be stopped one-on-one, and as we saw last night, he can be better than Shane and Artest defensively when he's motivated. As much as he got schooled on the defensive end, Ron made a bigger mistake trying to retaliate on the offensive end, forcing up bad shots and turning it over.
I think Artest almost had him flustered a little bit with the mini-scuffle, but then Kobe got fired up and caught fire. He didn't try to drive much, instead finding enough space on the outside with Pau's moving picks to get his shot off. As much as Ron may want to man-up on Kobe, our best chance for success defending him is likely using multiple defenders (i.e double teams) and forcing him out of a rhythm. The 1-on1 defense on the perimeter by Shane and Ron gave him too many good looks, and Kobe's shot is so pure (which is where he has the advantage on Lebron or Wade) that I would rather him dribble and drive and get forced into meat of our defense where our guys can help out.
I'm disappointed but not distraught. I think Artest and the Rockets will be well-served to look back at the tape from this game to try to come up with better defensive stategies to help contain Kobe and Pau. I still believe we can take them out in the playoffs if we meet, but we'll obviously have to play better than last night.

Ron Artest kinda reminds me of Dennis Rodman the way he would be in the player's face all the time.

Ron Artest was just being himself , a true warrier. He played tough defense on Kobe but kobe just had a very good night hitting those j's . With the good players like Kobe and Lebron you just have to gamble that they'll miss those off balance jumpers.

What I would've liked to see was the Rockets posting Ron Artest when Kobe was on him. With the kind of physical defense Kobe was playing he was bound to foul Ron in the post.

Sadly though Ron had an off night on offense and kept shooting those outside j's. When the games are more important Ron should do what the better players do when their j isn't falling and that is to attack the rim and draw fouls. the rockets got the lead by driving to the rim with determination and lost it after they kept settling for those j's.

I'm surprised Kobe didn't say: I raped him in the ass like he was a white chick.

You are right at the point, i think coaching was the problem last nit. We stopped LBJ but not Kobe? who did the game plan? im sure they r different people. I know Kobe has better shooting but forcing then out of a rhythm is the key just re visit the Cavs game you will wonder why we didnt do the same to Kobe.

LBJ wasn't a good jump shooter, you crowd the paint and he won't be able to light you up. Kobe's a different animal, he's used to killing you from 16-18 feet.
If he's hot, double him 18 feet beyond and make others beat you.

Some people go really overboard with there blind hatred. People HATED MJ but would love it if he was on there team bringing them championships. I HATE Kobe but I'm not blind to know he would bring us multiple championships with the squad we have right now.

I would take a team full of hated players if it brought Houston another gold trophy.

Kobe might bring Houston the trophy. For me that would be an empty victory. I would rather lose with a team that I can route for, than win with a team I couldn't cheer for.
