Anyone surprised this dude is throwing people under the bus again? I've never seen a star player throw so many players under the bus before and it gets ignored.
Disagree. Practices are for drilling in team concepts. This is what made the Showtime Lakers and Celtics of the 80s, Jordan's Bulls and Pop's Spurs so awesome. Rudy T talked about how practice was so important to the Rockets during their championship runs. Practice is why Pop has been able to plug and play guys for the last several years during the regular season and still win. It's a lot more than "just fooling around shooting jumpers or playing a pick up game". Coaches try to drill team concepts into players and the only way to do that is hard, intense practices that simulate games. Depending on the schedule, the length of the intensity obviously varies.
They are one of the worst defensive teams in NBA history. Kobe isn't having his best year but he's at least playing hard and seems to give a s**t.

That doesn't explain why he wasn't there at all. I'm all for tough love, but if practices look like ****, it's probably because their leader wasn't even present to influence them.
leadership in a small group is about knowing the right way to approach each individual case, there's only 14 other people.
This is hilarious, Kobe is a terrible leader!!! A great leader recognizes who needs a tongue lashing and who needs a hug. A great leader has to be a adept at managing people and personalities which are completely different, sometimes on a day to day basis depending on one's mood. Also one of the best qualities of a great leader is the ability to inspire people. Kobe's leadership kills all inspiration LOL!!! This is great!!! Kobe is single handily destroying the Lakers, I LOVE IT!!!
Kobe is one of the reasons why their defense is so bad. Kobe needs to practice defense first before he say anything about his teammates' practice. The funny thing is, Nick Young is a Kobe clone as a chucker. Of course he would talk trash with Kobe. Also, the most important thing to accomplish in practice is team execution. Kobe is the biggest culprit in lacking TEAM execution.
1. Kobe couldn't get along with and ran off Dwight (Shaq part 2). 2. Kobe took $24 mil and destroyed cap flexibility. (Better aging players like Duncan and Nowitzki took much less so their teams could remain competitive). 3. Kobe has a true shooting percentage less than 50% (which is awful) and is playing zero defense (dead last in defensive real Plus Minus at SG). In light of the above, him trying to throw his teammates under the bus is hysterical. Dude is desperate to salvage his declining legacy. Duncan, Shaq, LeBron, and Garnett are already higher than him on the all-time rankings. Who else will surpass him?
That's what Kobe is looking for, strangely enough. He wants people to fight back and get intense. The problem is that he sort of expects everyone to have the same mentality as him, when it's just not in everyone's DNA. The side effect is him looking like a complete ******* a lot of the time. I think it's hilarious, though.
