It was interesting at first but eventually I just had to turn the tv off. They half time and locker room stuff was nice though. Wish they showed more off court preparation type stuff than Kobe analyzing
What an embarrassing, self-indulgent piece of tripe. I don't think this thing took any effort to plan or produce.
It's funny how when he makes a mistake he acts like he meant to do it. *Kobe goaltends* "yeah I was just tryin to send a message right there"
This would've been WAY more fun with LeBron or Dwight Howard. I'm almost offended at the way ESPN kept advertising something that wound up being so boring. That's on "WNBA ad campaign" level...
Uploaded it on Youtube because I was bored.. Whoever wants to watch it, its here... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/M7nxYC7FdtU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/M7nxYC7FdtU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
i admit. i watched it. i was a little dissapointed, not because i dislike kobe, which i do, but because i thought that since this was a documentary there would be more "behind the scenes" and interview type stuff. Instead it was just a bunch of highlights strung together from a game with kobe narrating. b-o-r-i-n-g. the only thing took from 'doin' work' was that kobe likes to talk and talk and talk and talk during a game. i wonder if he's actually like that in every game or if he just did it because he knew it was for the documentary.
Kobe definately made it show that he took creative control of the piece. TiVo'd it and watched minus the commercials. Still only made it to halftime before I started skipping large portions of it. Kobe said, "We are like the United Nations on this team, we are all fluent in multiple languages." This comes from when he was speaking "Italian" to Sasha Vulabutt. Knowing Italian, I laughed, because what he actually said was "Five-Two" which was the play the would be running on defense. So I guess now in order to be "Fluent" in any language, you just have to learn the first 10 numbers of a given language. Stop trying to act like your smart, Kobe! Just because you have a high "Basketball IQ" doesnt mean your smart in general, your still the same smug punk kid with a highschool diploma that a private school gave you for basketball. No excuse me, Kobe, while I delete this garbage from my TiVo and go call my cousin in Italy and talk to him while polishing my framed COLLEGE Diploma. BAM!
Yeah 30 minutes in and I'm turning it off. I thought it would be more behind the scenes with him and the team.
I watched it. Spike could have made the movie 30 minutes and igt would have accomplished the same thing.
The funniest quote that I saw from Kobe. "The refs have a tough job, I try to keep from complaining to them unless I am taking up for my teammates". The quote isn't exactly right but Lol @ that bull****, he complains everytime he drives to basket even when he's not fouled.
how about when he said he points out certain things to the refs because they cant always see everything that happens on the court. how nice of him.
what's funny is that espn is playing the damn thing back to back to back. airing the damn thing 3 times in a row is a bit much.
lol, But yeah this whole documentary probably could of been done in 30 minutes. I thought they said Spike Lee was traveling with him to a few games earlier this year so I assumed that the documentary would feature more games and more behind the scenes stuff.
The whole thing was faker than silicon implants. To quote Bill Simmons, http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=4137488
