LOL, it is really quite convenient for LeBron fans: Lebron can do it all, Lebron makes his teammates better, LeBron is clutch, LeBron this, LeBron that, blah, blah, blah. Guess what? LeBron James dominates the ball in that team, he doesn't actually makes his teammates better, Larry Hughes was a player before he joined the Cavs, Big Z was once one of the top centers in the league, Drew Gooden is always a serviceable 4, their support cast is decent in the Least Conference. Yet they still have a mediocre record and the LeBron fans just belittle his teammates to show why he is the "King". Sorry, I will take Kobe over Lebron any day of the week even though James is the NBA's poster child.
key words bolded. drew gooden is servicable when he shows up. the problem is that he doesnt show up all the time. decent supporting cast...at best. That's not saying much.
lebron needs the ball more than kobe, lebron gets more bs calls from refs not that he's the poster boy, and he doesn't put that much effort in defense where kobe excels, not to mention, in the game against sonics, kobe was having a viral infection, even the Seattle announcers mentioned couple times that kobe was not feeling well
kobe is a better pure offensive player and far more complete player than lebron in terms of defensive prowess. kobe also thrives in clutch situations.
Maybe last second heroics, but LeBron is better in the "clutch" (Last 5 minutes of a game") than Kobe is, this year and last year. I don't care what you call pure offense when Kobe has never shot a better percentage than LeBron and he isn't doing it right now, let alone hit the 50% mark for a season. That doesn't even include the assists LeBron kills him in.
LeBron's done pretty well himself in clutch situations. LeBron's clutch time stats Kobe's clutch time stats Late in the fourth or overtime, LeBron routinely takes over the game with his ability to get to the basket seemingly at will, and his willingness to pick apart of defenses his passing. You can't go wrong with either one, but I think I'd actually prefer LeBron. I'd rather have a layup/dunk or pass to a wide open teammate from LeBron, rather then a contested (though uncanningly makeable) jumper from Kobe.
