Take your Kobe glasses off. The District Attorney had all the evidence he needed and a trial was about to get under way. Kobe's lawyers advised him to buy his way out rather than get a conviction. He did.

Who wouldn't be? I would be if my girl was sitting right next to me (descretely of course). It's human nature. Nothing wrong with looking.

 

Wow. Really? Seriously, I'm no Kobe lover nor hater. After the fiasco of the Duke Lacrosse team and just many other things that don't get coverage, I really don't think it's fair to be on any side or to judge the other.

The DA and the Defense team were both throwing out confident and crazy statements and findings and all sorts of things that if true, were totally damaging to the other side.

The trial would have definitely been enlightening to say the least. But she backed out. There's no evidence of a pay out. So it is what it is. While people are entitled to their opinions, the facts are the charges were dropped. He wasn't found guilty...he wasn't acquitted either. There's really no way, imo, to be confident in your opinion towards either side.

 

Those chicks need to eat imo.

Dude they settled out of court. Of course he paid her. Open your eyes man.

 

I'm not saying he's innocent. But on the same token, I don't think you can fairly judge him guilty. And the official statement on that website linked to the police report says there was no monetary settlement. Is that possible? Can there be a settlement and both sides officially say no money was exchanged?

Either way, I just think it's a weird case where one really can't fairly conclude anything.

 

There were 2 lawsuits, one criminal and one civil.

The lady dropped out as witness in the criminal case, so the charge was dropped. But the lady really had a very marginal criminal case.

For the civil suit, Kobe avoided to expose his personal life by paying off the lady with non-disclosed amount of money.

Now, the lady is married. She met her husband in rehab.
