Kobe as the best player in the world is not the truth. It's an opinion. Kobe has a great attitude after Shaq is not the truth, it's an opinion. I think both opinions quoted here suck. But that's just my opinion. And opinion is usually clouded by love and hate.

I am just amazed how much Kobe love is among supposedly hardcore Rockets fans.

Watch Team USA, If you had you would know he definetly makes his teammates better. Simply put, his Lakers have a s!@#y roster... Magic couldnt get that team out of the first round...

Again, I hate Kobe Bryant, But I have watched enough Basketball to know when your watching something special. There hasnt been a player with the kind of will he instills in the games since the great ones. And if you dont think he is a team player, check out team USA, thats what changed my mind on him.

You could make an argument for Nash, but until he wins a ring,or three, he aint shiznit.

Individual talents do not make you the best basketball player, unless you ignore winning and team success.

Add Wade too. Anyone tuning in to the playoffs the last 3 years knows these 4 are better if you include winning as a criteria.

Nash carried mostly a rag tag group with no bigs whatsoever to the Western Conference finals 2 years ago. You know, the same depleted team Kobe had 3 strait games to eliminate and couldn't. Granted Nash's team after and before were loaded.

Kobe needs to lead out a team out of the 1st round and lead his team to a decent record to get serious run as the best basketball player. Unless you want to base this label on individual skills and not actually NBA games with 5 men on the floor at a time.

Lebron, Wade, Melo are all great players, the last Olympic is the prove, watch lebron panic like a girl at the line and watch Wade fire brick shots, and now that Kobe is in the team, this is the U.S team, without Kobe, it is the WUS team.

If you want to judge the best basketball player and ignore the NBA playoffs go ahead.

But again, Nash doesnt have a ring. In fact, he has never even made it out of the WCF.
I dont think Nash is much better, if at all, than Jason Kidd.

If you give Jason the guys nash has, I think the Suns are every bit as successful. But thats just speculation so who knows.

BTW, I think kobe outplayed nash in those playoffs but the Suns overall talent was just too much...

Are you ignoring the NBA playoffs? Kobe dropped 30-6-6 a game in the playoffs winning 3 consecutive championships and almost a 4th against Detroit. Nash has not been to the championship, because he, nor the Suns play DEFENSE. Something that all Championship teams have.

It is clear that Kobe's stats are superior to those of everyone else's, and he has won 3 championships. The only objection left is that he won those 3 championships with Shaq, so those are somehow invalid and now the playoff achievements of the others outstrip his own accomplishments. However, Duncan has also had great support, first in the form of Elliot and D-Rob, now in the form of Parker and Ginobili. Essentially for his championships he has had at least two other All-Star or near All-Star players with him. Nash hasn't won anything, even though he has All-Star support in Stoudemire and Marion and previously in Nowitzki and other high priced talent Cuban brought in like Jamison/Walker. Lebron's first playoff success was this year, where he plays in the downtrodden Leastern conference, and his supporting cast is significantly better than Kobe's.

Are you kidding? Last time I checked Wade won the championship with a team that ALSO included a guy named Shaq. Do you really think Wade could have won the championship that year was it not for Shaq.

You all just need to admit that Kobe is the best player in the NBA today, and admitting that doesn't make you any less of a Rockets fan. It only shows your understanding of and the appreciation of the game of basketball.

If ya'll can't tell the differnce between the Shaq that got his title because of Wade, and the Shaq that resulted in Kobe getting rings, than I don't know what to tell you. Shaq's knew the difference. Everyone who voted playoff MVPs know the difference. But you guys don't.

Kobe is a great player. But his individual talents eclipse his effectiveness in 5 on 5 NBA, playoff style ball.

What are you using to determine that Kobe is the best player in the game today? Do you think as long as he is still in the league, he will remain top dog based on what he did in the past as Shaq's sidekick? What has he done since to be considered the best in the League?

I dont think a sidekick puts up an average of 30 6 6 in the playoffs.
BTW Shaq wasnt even in at the end of the game,Do you know why?
Kobe was the finisher, the killer.....

Where was Kobe's famous killer instinct in the second half of game 7 against the Suns?

Why is everyone so quick to invalidate the fact that Kobe has three rings just because Shaq was on his team? Is it because the Rockets have been one of the few teams to win it with just one star player?

Is Parker better than Duncan now just because he won a finals MVP this year? Is Magic any less of an all time great because he won all five of his titles with Kareem?

It is not that all these people are Kobe sack riders. They are giving respect where it is due. Some of you guys are just blinded by your hate for Kobe. He dropped 53 points on the Rockets not once, but twice last year...

So uh, what are you trying to say? Oh damn, you got me the Suns beat the Lakers thats right. OK, youve convinced me, Nash is infinetly better than Kobe. Kobe's rings and achievements mean nothing compared to Nash's quest to get his team out of the WCF.

Nash has practically nothing to work with while Kobe had All-Star caliber weapons such as Kwame Brown,Smush Parker,Bryan Cook,Luke Walton and on and on and on.

    BTW Kobe sucks...

I was more of a Shaq person in the Socal triangle. Kobe is scum to me but he's one of the top3 players, IMO.

Pippen wasn't that bad either. All he did was be the teams 2nd best scorer and defend the other team's best player.

You know what they say about Kobophobes, the more you hate him...

There's no point to argue with someone not smart enough to recognize that the best player in the planet is Kobe Bryant. Shaq, Tmac, Areana, Lebron, and countless others admitted in TV interview that Kobe's is the best player, and for those of you that might want to argue this, STFU, I DIDN'T MAKE THIS UP, THEY SAID IT...
